So I had decided back in September when I had my consultation with Debbie along with reading numerous reviews on here to book my surgery date. I decide to have my surgery date after my sister did hers first lol that way I can get an better idea up close of how things really are. She's coming up on 3 weeks post I believe which seems like has flown by to me. Check out her profile ---(Bunny28)! I get to ask her questions all the time as well as give her those needed massages when she feels her knots forming/skin tightening.I can definitely see her progress which has me excited and a bit anxious for my surgery. I think I'm more nervous about the numbing and getting the incisions done since she said it does sting when the doctor is giving a numbing shot to make the incision. I think for the remainder of the process I would rather be in a sleepy-half wake state because I'm not one that does well with pain. Although American Lipo Center provides you with a compression garment and white binder as part of the cost in surgery I opted to buy my own. Reason is I'm short (5'2) and I saw how my sister's garment started indenting (same height). So I found that fajas are made for starting height of 5 feet. I just received mines and decided to try it on since I figured with my current pre-op size might be similar to my swelling post-op. It's definitely snug fit and compressed really good. I can still breathe so that's always a huge positive, lol! I was debating between #2468 and #2405 from Diane & Geordi. I decided on the latter due to when I will have to put it on by myself this one seemed easier with less hook eyes and has zipper. Faja Brand is Diane & Geordi #2405
Size: Medium
Color: BlackMy disclaimer with sizing of this faja: each of the above sites had different size charts. The attached picture is the real size chart on packing. So now that I have the actual faja package I can say the website with the same chart is girdleboutique. The next closest chart would be perfect bodies (top chart only--measurement table in orange!!)Oh before I forget my starting stats taken at home:Under Bust: 33"
Waist @ belly button: 33"
Hips : 39"
Weight: 144 lbs :|
Height: 5'2"
Surgery for: Upper & Lower Abs onlyI was going to get flanks but due to am unexpected car emergency I couldn't financially. Well that’s all for now. TTYL

3 more days to Surgery!!!!

Only 3 more days to surgery day, eeeeekkkk!!!! I'm a bit excited and ready to just get it over with already so I can start the healing process.

I had my Pre-Op appointment on Thursday 10/29 in which I paid my final bill portion and received my prescriptions (total of 5). 3 are for the day of surgery and 2 are for post-op (antibiotics and pain med). Debbie did ask if I had met Dr. Baker before as he will typically do my pre-op review of my skin evaluation. I advised I had met him when he was completing my sister's surgery. He is very professional and nice. He's seem to be full of fun as well especially since he likes to sing during surgery from what my sister told me.

I picked up my meds yesterday from Walgreens and was surprised that there was little out-of-pocket cost with my insurance I only paid about $12.00. My sister has same insurance company but filled her prescriptions at CVS and paid $45 out of pocket. In either case, make sure you have your meds ready for day of surgery and don't forget to pick them up. I know on the day of my pre-op another girl was there and she forgot to pick up her meds and she lived a good ways away. She had an early surgery appointment for 6am.

I am drinking water like crazy which is 6-8 glasses of water so that has me running to the bathroom like crazy lol. I sure hope I don't have this issue once I am post-op trying to un-hook a garment.

My daily regiment for the 2 weeks prior to surgery has been consisting of: 2 bromelain 500mg pills, 1 iron pill, 1 multivitamin, 6-8 glasses of water.

Now that I am a few days into my 1 week to surgery, I have implemented the Pre-op instructions which means no aspirin/ibuprofen, no coffee day of surgery and I think no coffee the day before.

Ugh come on 11/4 already. I'll keep all updated throughout my journey. TTYL

D-Day is Here!!! (Surgery Time)

Tuesday 11/3:
So with surgery in less than 24 hours, I came home and relaxed a few hours before starting my prep for tomorrow. I took a nice long hot shower in which I was able to wash my hair to place in Princess Lea top buns. I made sure I had my go bag packed with meds, garment, extra socks & extra sports bra. I also packed a water bottle and cheez it snack size bag with handful of almonds for after surgery on the drive home.

Going to sleep lol that was almost non-existent since I was anxious. I stayed up until 12am even though I was in bed by 10:30. Needless to say I expected to be extra tired getting up at 3:30am

Surgery day 11/4
Got up and got dressed. I ate some oatmeal. Me and my sister headed out for the short commute at 4:10am and arrived at ALC at 4:40am. So I waited until Debbie came downstairs to open the doors at 5am.

As soon as we get if there are any pre-ops she gets them situated. I was given a cup to obtain a urine sample. Debbie took my medications to get them prepped and had me sign pregnancy testing And pre-op checklist to certify I followed the instructions. So it's now 5:30am and I'm waiting for meds to kick-in. Gotta enjoy surgery fashion!

I'll update after surgery. Ttyl
