Amazing Result for a Complex Revision Rhinoplasty.
I had surgery with Dr. Robotti almost five months ago for a complex revision rhinoseptoplasty.
Despite my low expectations for a satisfactory aesthetic-functional result, Dr. Robotti far exceeded them.
My first surgery was 12 years ago at the hospital in my city in Italy.
The issues were related to a deviated septum, a dorsal hump, and turbinate hypertrophy, which caused breathing difficulties. The outcome was disastrous: two completely different profiles, not corrected deviation, and a septum perforation.
It took me years to find the courage to undergo another surgery after that traumatic experience and to trust a surgeon again. I feared trusting another incompetent doctor and ending up in an even worse situation than before.
Fortunately, that didn’t happen.
Once I gathered the courage, I spent two years researching the best Italian surgeons specialized in secondary rhinoplasty and reconstructive procedures. That’s when I came across Dr. Robotti’s name and booked an appointment.
During the first visit, which was detailed and thorough, the doctor explained the aesthetic issues and functional damage of my nose, emphasizing the complexity of the procedure, the limitations, and the risks involved.
I left that first visit feeling very discouraged and took some time to reflect on whether the surgery was truly worth it.
The decision wasn’t easy; this had to be my final surgery, and I didn’t care about the cost – I just wanted to resolve the issues that had been affecting me.
In the end, I found the courage, and with determination, I decided to go ahead with Dr. Robotti.
It was hands down the best decision I could have made.
The surgery lasted about five hours, and it went even better than expected, even for the doctor: the septum was corrected and straightened, the tip was reshaped to fix its aquiline form, and the two profiles are much more symmetrical than before (due to the natural asymmetry of my bone structure, this was the best possible outcome).
Most importantly, the fistula was closed with grafts taken from the septum and rib cartilage.
Since my skin is very thin, the doctor used a “camouflage” technique with rib grafts to make the dorsum even smoother and free of visible defects.
The aesthetic result is surprising, almost resembling a primary rhinoplasty, and my breathing has significantly improved.
I had expected a complicated, physically and mentally draining recovery, but it turned out to be much easier than anticipated!
The first two days were difficult due to the anesthesia, and the first five days were the most physically challenging. However, after the first week, everything got much better.
I followed the post-operative instructions from the doctor and his team exactly.
From the start, my nose looked harmonious, with minimal swelling and no pain. The taping has helped me achieve a well-defined shape while reducing the swelling.
Today, five months later, I can confidently say my nose gets more beautiful every day.
The scars are nearly invisible, to the point where my nose doesn’t even look like a secondary rhinoplasty anymore.
Choosing Dr. Robotti and his impeccable team was the best decision I’ve ever made. I am incredibly proud of it.
I want to thank him and his wonderful team: Dr. Leone, Dr. Barzoi, Dr. Cottone, the nurses, the collaborators, and Francesca.
I had almost lost hope, thinking my situation could never be resolved, but thanks to Dr. Robotti, I’ve regained my trust in doctors, and more importantly, in myself.
