I had scheduled 3 consultations. Dr. Oppenheimer was my first and ONLY consultation. After I met with him, I cancelled the other 2. I knew I WANTED to have these procedures done, but even I doubted that I would pull the trigger going into my first consult. He made me feel SO comfortable about doing this for myself. He took the mom-guilt away from me that I should never spend this kind of money on myself-enough so that I booked my surgery and paid my deposit that same day. He was extremely thorough answering the huge list of questions that I had, and the excitement and pride in his work/career illuminated on his face, and in his words. He's continued to be extremely thorough in follow-up questions in-person and via email.
Having an autoimmune disease that effects the levels of my platelets, that was my number 1 concern in taking this surgery on. It was assuring that he even knew what I was talking about when I told him what I had and that he was familiar with what labs I would need to have done before hand to ensure the safety of my surgery. He assured me that my platelets did their job as soon as I was cognitive enough to understand him after surgery.
A very important factor for me was an overnight stay. Not many doctors keep their patients overnight, but I was only willing to do this if I was kept overnight. It was very important to me to be under medical supervision that first night for medical and comfort reasons. Having that overnight stay, I look back now and would NOT have it any other way. That first night is rough and being kept comfortable and supervised that first night made it far more tolerable than had I been home.
After losing 120 lbs, I had a large amount of skin left on my abdomen, so I had an extended tummy tuck. I also had fairly saggy breasts, but still a good amount of tissue, so I had a breast lift without implants. I also had lipo of the flanks and some skin removed from my mons pubis.
My results thus far (3 weeks post-op) have FAR surpassed any of my highest expectations. Dr. Oppenheimer went above and beyond to give me the body I have always DREAMED of.
