Rhinoplasty Gone Wrong, Stay Away! - Alpharetta, GA
UPDATED FROM lboogie23
There is Hope
lboogie23September 19, 2016
Had my third consult with a doctor on the west coast. He told me there was good news and bad news when it came to my nose. I told him I wanted the bad news first and he told me that the bad news is I have to wait a year. Which I figured, but I was hoping he would say six months but he didn't. The good news is that he said my nose was still salvageable and that I could get a more natural looking nose. I was relieved to hear that because there is not a day that goes by that I regret this surgery. Well, I guess my life will be on hold until July, what a mistake!

Nightmare Continues

Consulted with another plastic surgeon in the area and was told I would have to have a revision. My nose is curved so far in on both sides that the area between my eyes looks flat. I wake up every morning and can't believe this has happened to me.

Would you be willing to post a review about the new surgeon, if you decide to go through a revision? I live in the ATL area and would definitely subscribe to hear your journey :)

Hello! Been researching more about rhinoplasty, and I just stumbled upon an amazing facial surgeon in Atlanta named Dr. Burke Robinson. I was incredibly impressed with his before/after gallery, and one of his patients (who isn't pictured on his website) even did a Real Self review including before and after pics... I really love how she still looked liked herself afterward, just better :)
Anyway, it made me think of you... and, okay, I thought of myself too, lol, because as of right now he is definitely topping my list for rhinoplasty. If you get a chance, check out the Q&A section of his real self profile page; he only answered a handful of questions, but almost all of them were about rhinoplasty, and MAN, does he know his stuff!!!! I learned a lot.

Worst experience of my life. I will never have...
lboogie23July 30, 2016
Worst experience of my life. I will never have another cosmetic procedure except to have a revision. I am so embarrassed and depressed from the results. I expected a natural looking rhinoplasty result and instead got an overdone fake looking nose. Everyone and I mean everyone can tell I have had something done to my nose and it is humiliating!

Contact Dean Toriumi in Chicago. My girlfriend had a similar experience when her nose was made so petite that her septum shifted & her sinuses collapsed. Dr. Toriumi routinely performs coastal cartilidge grafts to restore structure & function. Stay strong, you are not alone & you will get through this.

Could you please post pictures? Negative reviews with zero pictures are often fake, paid off reviews from competing offices. Not saying that's what you're doing, just letting you know that your review will likely not be taken seriously unless you post pictures because of so many past instances of fake reviews.
I'm considering this doctor for this same procedure and tbh unless I see proof of a botch job, I'll likely have him do my nose due to all his overwhelmingly positive reviews and extensive experience.

I have nothing to gain from posting a negative review. I too was fooled by the positive reviews and pictures on his website. I hope that you think long and hard about what you are about to do. I have already consulted with two other plastic surgeons in the area and both told me that I will need a revision.

Well I must say, this definitely gives me pause :( I guess I better start looking into alternative facial surgeons. I definitely want someone who specializes in facial plastic surgery; it's terrifying to read reviews like these, where even a highly acclaimed specialist has huge F'ups, yikes.
I hope you decide to go forth with a revision so you can get the nose of your dreams x0x0x

Thank you, not saying Georgia doesn't have competent surgeons because they do. But, with something as important as your face why limit yourself.

That's a good point. I'm already planning a trip to Ohio for my butt lol. And the face isn't something one can hide like a butt-job gone wrong. Tbh that's my biggest fear too: to have a "done" looking cookie cutter nose... I'd much prefer an imperfect one thy still looks like me. I realize not all patients feel this way but I do and it sounds like you do too. :(
Did you have a septaplasty done alongside the rhino, or did you just have the rhino? I do know tht there are supposed to be some good rhino-revision doctors in the Carolinas. I'll post their names once I remember.

Just rhino, at what I had done was minor so I not sure how I got here? I would appreciate it, thank you.

I'm sorry, you will just have to take my word, I'm embarrassed enough as it is. Others might have had satisfactory results but that was not the case for me.

July 31, 2016
I understand. I'm so sorry you're disappointed with your results. How long post op are you? I know results improve with time and it can take weeks or even months.

In addition, you should never have people who have not seen you in a while draw back when they see you because your nose is so different. That is what I am going through and have to deal with on a daily basis. Good Luck to you.

I am so sorry to hear if your experience wow it's a huge fear for so many so thank you for being brave and coming forward! I got my cast off 4 days ago and cried bc I was so relieved about how natural and "unfake" my dr was able to construct it. I had a septoplasty as well as rhino. His name is John M. Shamoun in California. He is the only quadruple board certified facial plastic surgeon in the US & he is WORTH it girl. He has many before and afters and performs revisions. I am not being paid I am just a relieved girl ecstatic with rhinoplasty results and dreaded not being happy so I 100% feel your anxiety. I love real self for these reasons. It meant a lot when people reached out to me so I hope you find this with love. Please contact him if you are able. He will save you! P.s. My profile here is mystory30 feel free to check out pix

Thanks, I'm glad you had natural results. I have totally ruined my face, I look like an Avatar. If I didn't have to leave the house I wouldn't. To walk around like this for a whole year is humiliating. I'm suppose to be getting engaged this month and when my boyfriend sees me he definitely won't propose.
August 1, 2016
Thanks for the information as well. It blows me away how someone can ruin your life and be ok with it.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I often wonder if surgeons really understand the effect of a poor surgery result on a patient's life. It's pretty devastating. Their lives are fine while all we want to do is hide. I hope your search for a revision surgeon goes well and you get the result you deserve that makes you happy.
August 8, 2016
Thank you so much. You are exactly right, this has totally ruined my life. I had so plans and engagements that I was looking forward to but now, all I want to do is hide. It is a struggle to go to work in the morning and face people knowing they are looking at my botched plastic surgery. One co worker asked me last week what I did to my face and I nearly broke down in tears. Unfortunately, I don't have the type of job that allows me to hide in a cubicle all day. I also have not seen any of my closest friends because the embarrassment is too much. I'm praying that I find a revision surgeon that will be able to restore the happiness that I once had.

It's unfair how feeling self-conscious overshadows everything. There's no break from it except sleep. Sorry about that rude coworker - how thoughtless. It's extremely frustrating to really need support, while feeling too embarrassed to reach out to those who can give it. If the shoe were on the other foot, I bet you would be supportive of a friend going through what you are now - maybe they would want a chance to do the same for you. You'll find that surgeon that frees you from all of this.
August 30, 2016
This just hits the nail right on the head. It is so incredibly devastating. I cannot relate enough in how it has ruined not only my relationships with others, but my relationship with myself. It is so incredible painful and depressing. I've never considered suicide, but I can't keep putting myself through this hell if there isn't a way out.
August 30, 2016
Please don't feel that there is no way out because there is. I too felt like I didn't want to go on but, you must know that this too shall pass. I know it is hard but keep believing that your situation is not permanent and someone can and will help you. Please keep in touch and know you are not alone.
