I cannot wait to fully fill this out- I have so much to say but right now I have frozen peas on my chest. And apparently I am none too good at typing while applying a slight pressure.
So far I will say that after today's first post op appointment- my breasts look better after three days than on some people's two week post op photos.
I am glad I found and went with the surgeon/facility that I did :)
Today is one week and one day. The swelling...
The swelling did feel like having engorged breasts and sleeping in a 'sitting up' position was easier the first few days post op than the rest of the week.
Here are the details:
Pre-op: 34 D
Sounds like a lot (and it is!) but they had no life in them after breast feeding two kids for 18 months a piece. And not that I 'hated' them they just were not nearly as fantastic as they were before kids.
After consulting with the surgeon I opted to go with a lift in conjunction with implants.
We decided on Mentor implants. Smooth round moderate plus profile gel... 400 cc with a lollipop incision. So far I have had only minor discomfort really and mostly it is centralized under one breast- the bra kept rubbing it the wrong way!
Additionally, I have a weird schedule and once I accrued the funds I went in for a consult and literally was on the table the following Monday. I have also had friends go here and schedule as far as 6 months out. They try REALLY hard to accommodate you which is nice from any doctors office!
First photo is a side view pre-op of my old 34 D's and the second photo is three days post op (complete with mid line gauze for icing myself down more comfortable)

Wow, this must have been fate to get a surgery date so quickly! Congratulations, you look great! Sounds like icing was helpful during your recovery. Did you take any pain medication?

Yes, the pain meds can cause all sorts of side effects. Nice you didn't have rely on them much!
