.5 cc Juvederm -- Not Happy with Results

It's been about 10 days since my Juvederm injection. I am rather unhappy with my results.

My final results appear quite uneven. As you can see from the photos, one side looks indented. I also have 3 firm lumps from excess filler: 2 on my top lip and 1 on my right bottom lip. They are prominent when I open my mouth or when I smile.

My doctor said that these lumps will go away on their own in 4-6 weeks. Hyaluronidase was discussed, however, my doctor did not recommend the product as it would end up giving my lips a "dented" look. I saw my doctor 3 days ago. He thinks my lips look "great". I disagree.

My bottom lip is also very large compared to my bottom lip. To be fair, Dr. Heller did ask if I wanted more on my top lip after he finished the injection. I'm not a professional, so my best response was just to make sure it's all symmetrical. I don't think the final result is symmetrical at all.

I fear a touch-up is not possible because my doctor does not save the Juvederm for any amount of time.

What do you think of the results?

Juvederm Lips 1 Week Update

It's been one week since my Juvederm injections. As you can see from the photos, my lips have decreased in size by quite a bit. Funny, I kind of mourned my now lost, swollen lips as they diminished after the 2nd day.

They are still more plump than before, which is nice. However, the top lip is much more thin than the bottom lip. In the doctor's defense I did tell him to inject "as little as possible while still plumping them up..." but I expected the end result to be more symmetrical. I'm in between calling the office and seeing if he can correct it but I'm not sure what he would be able to do.

I still like them better than my natural lips. I think next time I go, I am going to ask that the end result look just like they did after the immediate injection from this last time.

I just got back from my appointment with Dr....

I just got back from my appointment with Dr. Heller. It was totally worth it.

Being a naturally trepidatious person, I opted for a low-dose of juvederm for my lips. I have always wanted my lips a little plumper but feared the cringe-worthy "duck lips" look. I desired something natural looking and modest.

I adore my new lips. Dr. Heller did a fantastic job. While there is a little bit of discomfort during injection (as expected) there is no bruising and the redness from the injection sites have pretty much faded. It's been like 3 hours and my lips are already soft to the touch. I am still a little bit sore, but I'm sure that will go away within the next couple of days.

To be honest, I was little nervous booking with Dr. Heller because he does not have any online reviews for his lip-fillers. It's a shame. He's a good doctor -- my lips look great and he treated my kindly even though my little Nervous Nelly moments.

He suggested I could afford to use more of the Juvederm while still keeping a natural look. I think he was right. My stubborn self declined. Perhaps maybe next time?
