Still struggling

eveningthrush
WORTH IT$2,200
I hate reaching out but I feel like this is the only place to go. Has ANYONE come to ANY type of conclusion as to why this has been an issue to them? Like through counseling? I have been struggling with this for 3 years and it’s just a scar now. Please refrain from chiming in with “it’s just a scar, or get over it” it is obviously not that lesser of a deal.

My email is kljeffreys1@gmail if you want to message me here, or there.

Much appreciated

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I understand the emotional roller coaster. I'm just beginning my journey of Picosure for removal of microblading. Some days I feel enthusiastic and positive, some days embarrassed and very anxious. I too have heard it all -- it looks fine the way it is, you need cover up, why'd you do that, etc. Of course, it seemed like a good idea at the time I had it done, but my results were not as expected, and so I'm do what I can to correct the mistake. We all need empathy and support not criticism. As far as your scar, have you consulted a doctor who uses the Picosure laser? It is my understanding that it will help scar clearing. All parts of the body heal differently from scars. Back scars apparently heal poorly; surprisingly facial scars heal well; not sure how arm scars generally heal. I had 16 stitches in my face a few years back (skin cancer), and although I was sure I'd be horribly scarred for life, it has faded to the point that it looks like one of my other crows feet wrinkles (trying to be a little funny). Also had one removal on my back, and that scar is still there -- not red but hypopigmented. My dermatologist explained to me about the different areas of the body and how the scars heal. Lasers have improved so much in recent years. I would seek a consultation with a physician using Picosure or Picoway about your scar. Good luck.

I understand how you feel....I got a tattoo on my forearm in November 2018, had a lot of depression/anxiety for several months. Still struggling but starting to do a little better. I went online and actually started listening to some talks on YouTube from Tony Robbins (if you type him in on YouTube, a bunch of things pop up). I especially thought his talks on Overcoming anxiety and depression and Overcoming an emotional crisis were helpful for me. I listen to them in the car when I’m driving around for work. It’s almost like a little private “counseling “‘session for me without having to go anywhere lol. Of course nothing wrong with going to counseling too, that also can be very helpful. Wishing you the best , you can and will get through this !

I've been having picosure for tattoo removal. One tattoo was to cover up self harm scars. I started seeing the scars again when the tattoo faded, but then what happened is the picosure laser started healing these old scars (they are like 9 years old). I have had about 4 laser treatments now and the scars have faded at least by 60% already so might be worth considering [RS bleep]

Hi there! I’m sorry you are going through this but there are other lasers available to help with scarring. I have been going through a tough journey with a whole sleeve tattoo and half sleeve that do not represent me anymore. Over time I have come to terms with keeping some and removing a comfortable amount. I will never be tattoo free again but I’m happy with what my options were. Who knows maybe years from now there will be more options. Hang in there you are beautiful :)

Excision and struggling with severe depression

eveningthrush
Hi, I was wondering if anyone reading this might reach out to talk? I got a tattoo on the outside of my wrist about 2 and half years ago and have gone thru hell and high water with removal. It has reaped havoc on my mental state to the point that I went thru with excision. I was happy with my decision at the time, but I am afraid that it may have not solved anything. I still oddly feel like I have the tattoo there. I can't explain the feeling. But it puts a deeply nauseous feeling in my gut that I can't get rid of. Almost one of fear. I feel like I've lost all of my self confidence and am a shadow of the person I used to be. I just want my life back. In whatever form that may be..
If anyone can offer any words of wisdom...

The scar will eventually fade and you will feel better. I promise.

Are you using anything to help with the scarring?
I agree with the first comment. When the scar fades, you might start feeling like yourself again.

dude its so weird how our cases are similar. my tattoo 'artist' convinced the silly me to get it done bigger than what i initially had planned. 2 years now and it has somehow ruined me. i mean, i know for a fact that other people just don't care but im some kind of a perfectionist/control freak/whatever, i do not like it, its [RS bleep] there, and its the worst [RS bleep] ever. btw mine are black, strong, 3, and 2 of them are on the HANDS so fmlx2.

imo the only silver lining that i see is that because of how dark its been psychology-wise, if you find a way either to ACTUALLY be ok with it or get it gone (keep us updated on the excision recuperation btw!) then you you will be much stronger later in...life?

i mean nothing b4, no breakup or loss of a loved one, had affected me personally that bad so i feel that if i change the chemistry of my brain to deal with this thing, that objectively is negligible compared to other people's problems, then i'd be feel invincible. have you thought of that, does it make any sense? maybe it sounds too vain, but hey!

I totally agree with this. I feel like if I can get to some state of resolution with this I will be absolutely invincible. Thank you so much for reaching out. it helps to know I'm not the only one in this state.

You only have 1 life, and 1 body for a small fragment of time in this world. Don’t worry too much about what you’ve done or what you’ll do to it. Understand that you are an individual, and you can’t change that. Embrace your differences, and be confident however you look. Learn to love scars & tattoos you hated - and move on!

Tattoo Excision

eveningthrush
Hey guys, I wanted to update you on my tattoo removal journey. After about 5 laser treatments (3 q-switch and 2 pico sure) without much movement, I ended up getting an excision last week. Pretty crazy stuff but I'm happy with the decision. I still have to get my stitches removed so I'll make sure to keep ya updated. Hope this helps someone out there. It's been a lonnnng 2 years with this thing and I'm happy to start the healing journey.

Any pictures to share ? The placement of your tattoo seems to be a good option for excision. Lucky you!
Hoping you are feeling great with your decision and the results! Power to you!!
