I was kind of on the fast track for my tummy tuck...

I was kind of on the fast track for my tummy tuck as my fiancé surprised me saying that he will pay half if I really wanted it. Yes, please!

The issue for me was that I needed to have it done fairly soon as I wanted to be recovered by July 1st because I'm going to Europe with my daughter and will be walking around quite a bit.

Dr. Pollock and his staff were so accommodating and were able to get me in within two weeks of my consultation. I had the surgery yesterday, and, so far, I'm very impressed!

I have a tummy tuck scheduled with him June 19th. How are you feeling?
May 29, 2017
Today has been the best day by far. I felt refreshed when I woke up this morning and have managed to clean up a little around the house. The first few days were definitely the hardest.

Thank you for responding. Did you by chance have the exparel injected during surgery? That's supposedly the new anesthetic that's supposed to last a few days after surgery. If you didn't, how was the pain level? Have you been able to keep it in check with the medicine they gave you? Sorry for all the questions. I'm nervous lol.

Please. Ask away! I was so nervous I almost backed out of it! I don't think I did the exparel. If I did, I didn't know about it. Ha! My pain level has been surprisingly ok. I have a decent pain tolerance level, so that may have something to do with it. I was given hydrocodone and a muscle relaxer. I was off them by day three. But I did take a hydrocodone last night just because I need to get back on a normal sleep schedule as I'm going back to work tomorrow. I took three Tylenol and that helps during the day if I start to feel some pulling or pains. Overall though, I'd have to do it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Just do everything you can to not get sick. Coughing and sneezing are brutal. I mean BRUTAL!

Thank you. Exparel is an extra expense so it would have been something that you requested. I'm so happy to hear that you are feeling better. Did you have full muscle repair with your surgery?
May 30, 2017
I did. I had tt with muscle repair and lipo of the flanks. I'm really surprised because I don't have any bruising yet. Not sure if I'll have any by now. My first post op appt is tomorrow so I'll ask about it. I did notice some yellowing around my scar area this morning, but it's not bad. It's really been easier than I had anticipated, but at the same time, one of the hardest things ever. Haha. I think it's just that we kind of get used to instant gratification and this is a longish process.

Wow! Looks great. You are healing fast. Congratulations. Mine is in one week.

Thanks! Where will you be getting yours done?

Week one: first post op appointment.

Today wa a little rough because it was my first day back at work and I didn't get much sleep last night. Add that to feeling really bloated when I woke up, and I was a bit emotional. My day gradually got better, and I was actually ok by early afternoon. When I went for my appointment I was a little apprehensive because I wasn't sure what to expect. I was worried that I had pushed it too much over the weekend and wasn't sure how my scar was holding up underneath those steristrips. I was so happy by the time I left! All stitches were taken out and they said they didn't need to see me until my 3 month post op! Everything looked good (which I wasn't sure about) and I feel so much better about all of this.

No way I could have gone to work on day 7. Youre TOUGH!!
June 4, 2017
Haha! I had no choice! But I only had to work through Saturday. I'm off for the summer now. :-)

Omg! I still wasn't even standing up completely straight at 7 days. Thanksgiving was 14 days after surgery and I had to consciously make myself stand up straight so my family wouldn't know. I was completely drained. You are a trooper!

Thanks! I credit the drainless procedure. In some respects, my recovery has been fairly smooth.

I didn’t even know there was a drain-less procedure! I’m on Day 9 and my surgeon says I need them in because fluid output is still so high.

Day 13

Msces
I'm feeling better and better each day. Now I'm able to shop for an hour or two at a time and then test for a few hours. I'm definitely still swollen and may be pushing myself more than I should. I just can't tell. I've noticed a lump in my right side, kinda near where my kidney is. Im calling the doc today to see if I need to be worried. Other than that, I'd say things are going pretty well.
