Disappointed

I decided to have a facelift because of my jowls, but now I look deformed,I'm embarrassed to leave the house. The first 6 months I looked really good. The Dr. said that was as tight as he could do it and it was my glands and not his fault( of course) he offered me ultherapy on it to tighten them, but I said "no" to many bad reviews about it. Then he said he could remove my glands(really!!!), I said no to that. Then he said he could try Botox, so he did that, it helped a little, but not worth the side effects. So, now I'm back to square one, I'm going to have to find someone to do some kind of revision. I spent all my money on this one, so I really don't know what to do now

I'm sorry you're disappointed. I don't know what ultra therapy is, but I imagine it's some kind of skin rejuvenation. You don't look deformed however. I'm sure it can be fixed. Don't be afraid to leave the house though, you look fine. We never know what can happen in these elective surgeries. That's why they have us sign all those papers to cover themselves. And then if they do a reversion, you know darn well we're still going to get stuck with the Hospital fees. I'm not even 3 weeks yet, and my Plastic Surgeon's office sent me a request for FEEDBACK on the procedure I had!! I sent an email back saying, that I was only 2 weeks post surgery, how can I give a Feedback/Review, when it takes a full 3 mo. to see results? And then proceeded to say, I will defiantly give my Feedback when the time is appropriate. I have a very delicate chin, meaning smallish, (lol) so everything will show underneath it. He didn't recommend a chin implant, I asked, and that would be very noticeable if I had one. I have to go back into your review, I'm not sure if you had just a neck lift, or a whole lower face lift or a mini. But anyway, I was going to do just the mini lift. It would of been a big mistake. It cost me $12,000. just for a lower FL. Where as a min was $7, 250. I believe. I certainly didn't want to spend over $4,000. more, but if I was going to go under the knife, I wanted it to be done right. I will re-read your review. But try not to be too disappointed. You still look fine. Hugs!!!

Ok, so I had to read on line what exactly is an SMAS Face Lift, it's tightening of the bands and muscles in the neck. So I guess I had that also. It's very confusing, all Plastic Surgeons have different terms they use for the same procedure. I wish they'd all get together and decide on their terminology. Your PS should be addressing your concerns, not another PS, just not fair. If he genuinely cares about his patients satisfaction and his reputation, he should make it right. You said he had excellent reviews too. Makes me worry about my end results too. I wish you all the best and try to be kind to yourself, get out and enjoy your life, even if it's a little shopping or a walk, a small get away.

I just read your review and am so sorry this happened to you. I had surgery 6 weeks ago and so far so good, but this is very concerning, as it's still too early to tell. How are you doing now? Did your doctor address your concerns and make it right? I feel for you and would love an update on your progress. Wishing you all the best.

You need to o back to your surgeon and he should be able to repair that. Looks like you might need fat transfer to make that area under your neck look normal, nothing that cannot be fixed. I can see a huge difference from your before pictures and it’s very true with any surgery, anything can happen. I too will need al little fat transfer in my left cheek, but I am not worried. Being my second facelift oh the same doctor, I can tell you, both surgeries gave me different results. After my first facelift, one of my eyes would not close properly, in fact, it would stay slightly open, but even with that, I still trusted my surgeon this time around. Why? Because in time, my results showed major improvement. I looked my best after 2 years. You look great. You do not look deformed and if you are honest with yourself, you know you do not look anything like you did before. You have to go back to the same surgeon for a revision and if he is a good as you thought, he will fix that in no time. It looks repairable. I had to wait for the skin in my upper lid to loosen up to look great. You will look great too. I think that the surgery was worth it, you rated the FL “not worth it” but would you have rathered stay looking like before? I liked your new you better. Fix the issue with the same surgeon. He’s been under your skin, sorta say, he is the best qualified to repair it. Later on, have a radio wave treatment to activate the collagen under your skin and smooth out any imperfections. Best wishes.

I don't know you but reading your comment made me feel good I have nothing to do with this woman's surgery but I like your positive attitude and you're correct and what you're saying she does is much better I like how you focus on the positive aspects of the situation because there are many positive aspects of this situation. I just wanted to let you know I appreciate people like you

hello! You haven’t mentioned that you had a platysmaplasty, but otherwise what is the incision under your chin? that would be a neck lift - do you remember your surgeon saying he was going to do that? or maybe he did some liposuction there? That seems to be the bit that hasn’t worked as well as you might have hoped. Why not ask a question to the Drs on here? I’d suggest Dominic Bray to have a look but he’s in the Uk. You look improved from previously but I can understand your disappointment with that one area. [RS bleep]

6 month update - a little dissapointed

tracylv
Hi, everyone. It's been a long time since I posted. It's been 6 months since my FL, and I'm a little dissapointed in my lower bleph and under my chin area. Originally , I loved my lower bleph, but I guess they must have been still swollen because now I can hardly see any change. Also, under the chin area, although it is greatly improved, it's a little strange looking under there, it looks like I have jowls again. I go in for my 6 month check up in 12 days. Anybody else having these issues?

Yes, I definitely have had loosening up. Sigh.I think that happens a bit. It still looks much much better though.
Hope you are well.
Keep us posted...

There is loosening... too much I think and I'd be very unhappy myself. I've seen many pics, more than I can count and tightness and swelling go away but the area does not loosen up.
March 29, 2016
Hi Morgan, you're right ,it definitely will not tighten up after 6 months :(
March 30, 2016
I'm so sorry things did not go as smoothly as the other women whose posts we've been following. Also, I'm not happy to see this as I'm scheduled to have the same procedures by him on 4/12 and time's ticking. I believe you're the only person I've seen pics of that the work has just not been up to par. Have you spoken to him about a revision? I'm calling the office and asking the "what if" question and how he would then proceed.... I'll be paying up the nose, a lot more than you paid last year, to end up with these results. I hope he comes through for you. Keep me posted. I hope all works out well for you.

I hope so to. So far he's been wonderful. My appointment is on April 8th.

I'm on pins and needles with you :/ Good luck!

Hi Tracy
Hope your appointment goes well with Dr Miller. Keep us posted
I also plan to have a facelift done by Dr Miller
April 11, 2016
Hi June, i just got back in town from my appointment and he said that my jowls were not coming back but those are my glands, he said he can't tighten up that area up surgically, because it's already so tight , but he did recommend doing ultherapy on it to help tighten it. Not sure if I want to do it now, cuz I read so many bad things about it. He also said about my lower bleph, that he removed the bags and repositioned the fat, but I didn't have enough to fill out the whole area. He's also going to fix my earlobe next time , because it looks a little different than the other one.

Thank you for the update, Tracy.
April 11, 2016
Hi Tracy
Thanks for the update. From your pictures it looks like your eyes look better after the lower Bleph
Are you considering having fat transferr?
I'm holding off on the fat transfer until I see how I look after a few months post op

I have the same ! My trouble was chin and jowls , I have it back again !I am 5 , half monthes after facelift ! It could happens because of weak chin in my situation , smas is not as goog as people think about it ! I disappointed as much as you are . May be it is due to swallow face still?
November 13, 2016
You look fantastic. Seriously. I looked at the before pics and I see a big difference. Good job. Did you lose weight from the time of surgery to the six month point? Many people say they lost weight
November 13, 2016
Thanks, I did not lose any weight , but it fluctuates 5 pounds from winter to summer, lol. He did do a revision on my right ear in august.

I'm guessing it's not serious..but it sounds scary... Does it hurt?
November 7, 2015
They said it would go away on its own, it hasn't yet . It could turn into something serious but it's rare.
November 6, 2015
How very scarey, but at least you noticed it...
November 7, 2015
Thanks tracilv for the pictures. Good thing you
brought this up to your doctor. Keep an eye on it. Happy healing!!!

You are so blessed to be well. I have a clotting disorder, and 3 PSs that I went to for consults refused to do a neck lift on me due to my condition. Now I see why. I guess I'll just have to continue using my face tape kit that I get on the Internet. Thank you so much for posting this. And, this Thanksgiving we are thankful that you are healthy and well. ❤️
