Today is the day. I go in at 10 am for my procedures. I have been researching, reading, and researching so more for about 2 years now. I consulted with 6 top OC plastic surgeons and have decided to go with Dr Timothy Miller of Aliso Viejo, Ca. Double board certified in plastics, and he ONLY does facial and neck surgeries. Nothing else. I like that.
I am 46 yrs old. I know that sounds young to many people. But many doctors agree that an early approach has many benefits including faster healing, less scarring, and overall better results because there is less to repair. And since I hate my profile and the beginnings of turkey neck banding, I have decided to nip this in the bud and spend the next 10 years in my early "40s".
I will be posting before and afters later this week, and all along the way. I already have a few pictures posted from other threads here.

Day 1

I had been writing my review for 30 minutes when I dropped my laptop and lost the whole thing???? I can't begin writing it again tonight, I just don't have it in me. Some pictures will have to suffice. Mind you, I tend do delete unflattering pictures but these are the closest to my "before" state. I have been disturbed by my sagging turkey neck that I coul feel folding upon itself when I rotated my head, anyone know that feeling? Ugh, the worst. Also, I had the beginnings of jowling, and hollows under my eyes. When I looked at myself, I saw an overall "drooping" of my face and neck. I had the surgery yesterday which included a SMAS lift, upper bleph, and fat transfer to my cheeks, temples, eyes, nasolabial lines, pretty much everywhere that my flesh was diminished. My doctor says the swelling from the fat augmentation will take the longest to heal, approximately 2-3 weeks before I won't look disfigured anymore. My pain is minimal and easily managed. I was expecting to look and feel a lot worse than I do. I?? Dr. Miller and his staff. I will write more details tomorrow.

I think you look pretty good already, for all you've been through! The fat transfers may be hard to tell from generalized swelling at this point, but you DO look more youthful. Hang in there, two shoes.

Thank you. I fully expected to look like a truck wreck for the first week or two. I'm really pleased so far

Yes, you would expect to look far worse at this stage with more bruising and some swelling - whereas you already look good!

You look great, I am in the researching and interviewing phase. Yours is the closest to what I will be having when the time comes. Keep posting photos, your progress will be interesting to watch..

I've never seen healing like this.
it's because you look after yourself and are younger than most good for you.

Thank you for those kind words. Yes I agree, being younger greatly speeds the healing I've been told. I posted a question about whether I was ready for a neck lift on the q&a forum here, and I got a resounding YES! from every single doctor that answered Hahaha!!!!! So I started consulting that very week :) the research process for a PS is sooo time consuming, but I'm sure there are excellent ones in Toronto too. Good luck with your search and my advise is dont put it off!
