Earlobe Reconstruction for 1 1/4" Stretched Lobes

WORTH IT$1,200
I'd had stretched earlobes for 1 1/4 gauges since my early twenties, and I had always loved them. By the age of 36, however, they started becoming a nuisance--plugs poked me or just fell out when sleeping or showering, and no plug in the ear is very unappealing to me; the weight of them became tiresome; and when I moved from California to upstate New York, my earlobes became so cold in the winter they would go numb, too big to cover with earmuffs. I finally decided to consult with someone about repairing them, just to see how I felt about it. The timing and cost were just right for me, and I was ready to get rid of the stretched skin. I've been so relieved to have them back to normal. My first thought after surgery was that people with normal, small earlobes don't know how great they got it unless they go big and then choose to go back. It was such a weight off. Six months after my repair, I'm so very happy with the results! I don't think anyone would even know I ever had such huge gauges in my ears at all. I would definitely do it again in a heartbeat.

Dr. Tauber was THE NICEST guy, very genuine and friendly, and I felt comfortable right away. I was nervous about the surgery itself, but there was no discomfort at all. My earlobes looked SO GOOD, even moments after he had finished and they were full of stitches. I didn't realize how closely my ears were going to look to natural lobes. I'd seen some before-and-after images online of other earlobe repair surgeries from other places, and people more or less had what looked like two chunks of skin stitched back together. Dr. Tauber really reconstructed my ear and made it look like a natural lobe, and he even retained my second ear piercings, which had been there before stretching.

Hi! Have you gotten your ears pierced after the surgery? Are you able to wear earrings normally?
Hi, there. No, I never got them repierced, but there's no reason I couldn't. I was told to wait six months before repiercing the lobe again. Since it's a full repair, it's basically like new again. The surgeon was able to reconnect my second piercing and I can wear earrings in there but I don't.
