WORTH IT
Hi i have been approved for a breast reduction. I have wanted this for years b/c i have always been heavy chested and in pain. I am 20yrs old 5'3 196lbs. I am a 40 DD never stayed in a B long. My surgery is sept. 19th and pre-op is the 6th. I have to make up my mind on free nipple graft or pedicle. I have small nipples and my ps says i can have either one. I want a nipple graft but i am afraid of my nipple coming off so i have read). But living so long with heavy breast i want them small maybe a small C. What would be better.

Angel, Very excited for you! - it is natural for b/p to go up when you are taking such an important step. As most of the ladies on this forum know - breasts are not only fat. The heavier the breast the more glandular it is. That is why some ladies loose a large amount of weight and still continue to increase in cup size as I did. The reality is that after surgery you will have much greater mobility and ability to exercise. The decision to have surgery is between you and your medical providers. I commend anyone who tries to lose weight before or after surgery to be healthier, but frown on someone making judgements without knowing the history. Great luck to you this week and don't let the turkeys get you down!!!

If I were you, I would've lost some weight at first, because breasts are made of fat. And since you're very short and quite large it would've been very helpful before making this sort of dicision. I'm currently your height, and 150lbs, my bra size is 30/32GG, I'm going to try and lose 30lbs to get to a healthy weight and see if my breast's budge.

DITTO to Margie. I hope you aren't dissuaded or discouraged. We are here to support and help each other through this journey. Its a long road to get to where you are with a surgery date just around the corner. I trust you and your surgeon have made the appropriate decision. I also well know it is easier said than done to lose weight, or else we would all be slender. And who knows how far you've already come! Having large breasts certainly inhibits our ability to exercise, as well as many other issues we may have such as hormones, bad knees, etc. I'll be thinking of you on the 19th sending my well wishes. Soon you will feel great and "free to be... you and me" (you are too young to remember that but being a '70s child its comforting). Keep us posted. XXOO

Sending you all good wishes surgery day buddy!!!!! Hope all is well and look forward to your update!
Hi Angel! How did your pre-op go? I had the pedicle and went from a 34H to a 34DD. I have full sensation in my nipples, and actually more than I had prior to surgery. I know of some women who have had the nipple graft and are satisfied with that procedure as well. I think it is a personal decision between you and your doctor and what will be required to achieve the results you want. Let us know how it all goes and what you decide.
