WORTH IT
2 years post op Update!!! For anyone still interested hahaha!
2 years on, and this is still the best money I have ever spent, hands down. I actually forget what my old nose looked like, and get shocked when I see old pictures of me! It took me about a month to get used to this nose post-op, and it has literally become a part of me now! I remember being so worried that it wouldn't suit me!!!
The biggest benefit of my nose job is how much more confident I am. I never realised that I barely EVER took pictures pre-nose job, and now I take soooo many selfies! I'm no longer afraid of my nose flaring as I smile. Its such a blessing and I am so happy I got it done!!! NO ONEEE I meet and I really mean no-one has any idea I've had anything done, and are always so shocked! This is exactly what I wanted!! No Michael J noses around here!!!

More Before Pics

More before pictures of my nose, which I hope helps visualise how much of a difference Dr J made. You can see that although I liked my nose having a bulbous tip and African/ethnic look, I just thought my nostrils were too wide for my lips/face.

1year on: I’m Still Very Impressed

1.5 years on and I STILL catch myself in the mirror and smile when I see my new nose. Truly the best thing I’ve ever spent my money on, and I can’t describe how grateful I am to Dr J for my surgery.
My scars on the sides of my nose are basically invisible, and I will admit that I wasn’t actually consistent with using scar creams! They are extremely well hidden in the crease of my nose, and after a few months post-op they had 100% healed.
I also still have no hyperpigmentation. So I’m really pleased. As a black woman, scars and hyperpigmentation were my biggest fears.
Everything about cosmetic surgery is scary, especially on something as obvious as your face. I remember being so nervous the day before! But Dr J’s kind conduct helped me relax and feel at ease.
Months after my surgery his office still kept contact with me and made sure I was healing well, which I appreciate to this day.
I’ve added some pictures of my journey. I asked for a natural black nose, which wouldn’t look pinched but gets rid of the flare/wide nostrils I had. And I got exactly what I asked for!
Thank you Dr J for everything.

But it settled over time (about 2-4 months post op), and eventually completely disappeared. There is a tiny tiny wripple in the skin where it healed over, but it’s tucked in the crease of my nose so not visible - thank God!
How has your healing gone over the last few months? x
After the surgery, he took my stitches out a few (3-4) days later, and from that point I was allowed to travel.
I opted to stay in the USA for an extra 1-2 days after I got my stitches out, just to ensure everything was healing well, and then I flew home with no issue. I would definitely recommend staying the extra day or 2 after stitches are out because (God forbid) if there are any issues, you are still close to the Dr to help.
Luckily his office in NJ is a train away from NYC so instead of just healing alone silently in my Airbnb, once the stitches were out I had a great time in NYC enjoying the Christmas cheer!
Since it was still the pandemic at the time, I wore a COVID mask so no one could see my nose. You could definitely do that too, just to keep it clean and not have people looking at it while you’re out and about xx
