Airsculpt London Review
After close to 10 years of research, and 2 beautiful kids (2 c-sections) I finally decided to get my body back! I had prior consultations with other doctors in London who told me I needed a tummy tuck however I did not want to go through general anesthesia. I also wanted something that would be easy on my body. I knew I would not come out looking 100% perfect due to the fact that I had some loose skin, and diastasis recti post c-section. I also knew I would not lose my stretch marks.
I did some research and that led me to Airsculpt and gosh I was so happy when I heard Airsculpt opened a London clinic! I had a consultation in August 2023 which went well … but I chickened out. I was so nervous about having to go through any type of surgery.
I finally had my Airsculpt+ in London in January 2024 and OMG I had the best experience. I was so excited but super nervous however that eased once I arrived. Everyone was so nice - the lovely Penny, Abbey, the nurses and Dr Tillo. I arrived and got my vitals done, got marked up, spoke to the Doc who answered all my questions, turned on my playlist and got ready for the procedure. I got my upper lower abdomen, waist, and flanks done.
On the day, I was given a pain injection on my arm, and my skin was numbed using an Air Pen. This wasn’t painful - everyone describes it as having a rubber band snapped on your skin but it’s even less painful. Next up, small incisions were made - once again I hardly felt a thing. Next the fat was numbed - this was slightly uncomfortable but nothing crazy, pain level maybe 3/10 at this point. The actual fat removal process felt like a massage - in some areas it was rather soothing, in some areas it tickled, and in some areas it hurt (hitting on my nerves) but the pain was manageable (maximum 5/10 pain level in some areas, felt nothing in some areas). Dr. Tillo topped me up with more local anesthesia when needed. Next up I had Airsculpt+ to tighten the skin and this was also fine.
All in all it was a good experience and I was awake (singing and talking to the nurses and doc) the entire time. Dr. Tillo was so kind, and so patient with me throughout.
Afterwards, I felt a little sore but once again all manageable. When the anesthesia wore off, I did feel some pain but the pain medication prescribed helped a lot. Went home same day, got in bed, took my meds and had a good rest. The next morning, woke up very sore (felt like a rather hard workout), took my meds regularly which eased the pain and walked around the house for about 20 mins. In general, I honestly felt okay after 24 hours! Took another walk down the road that evening.
The next day I had my first shower. Took off my compression garment and OMG I was so so happy I cried. I have felt uncomfortable in my own skin for so many years after my emergency c-section. I was still very swollen, sore (and itchy) and bloated but I felt totally fine. Went shopping on day 2 LOL, didn’t want to overdo it but could have stayed out longer. Everyone is different but for me the most annoying thing was my skin itching (started 48 hours after) - antihistamines helped.
Had my 1 week check up and took a 6 hour flight a week after surgery. I am now 10 days post op and feeling great. Still wearing my compression garment (and my foam pad) for at least 23 hours a day. It’s beginning to be a little too comfortable so I am about to buy a smaller sized garment.
I am very happy with the way my body looks and I know it’s going to get even better. I look like I lost a whole lot of weight on my stomach and waist but still looks very natural.
If you’re like me and it’s taken you years after child birth to find the courage to do this, rest assured you’ll be fine. I recommend Airsculpt London a million times over! I wish you luck as you start your journey to a banging body!
