I Finally Feel Back in Control of my Body

I've always been a relatively slim person, hovering around 120lbs and mostly unbothered by my body until I suddenly gained close to 20lbs in a roughly 6 month period. Being 5'3, this was a drastic shift in my appearance. None of my clothes fit and I hated seeing my reflection. Soon enough, I was diagnosed with PCOS and a thyroid autoimmune condition (and later pre-diabetes as a result of the PCOS) which explained the sudden weight gain. My endocrinologist said weight loss would be an uphill battle and despite my best efforts and medication to help control my conditions, the scale was continuing to creep up.
I needed a solution that would help me to feel better about my body while I figured out all of my medical issues. I had been casually following Elite Body Sculpture on Instagram for a while and finally decided to bite the bullet. I had never had a cosmetic procedure done before so this felt like a huge leap, but I was so bothered by my appearance that it felt warranted. I did a lot of research on the doctors in my location and decided on Dr. Adam Schaffner as he had fantastic reviews - he did not disappoint!
During my visit with Dr. Schaffner, he was very professional, thoughtful, and made sure my expectations were realistic. I ultimately opted for airsculpt of my upper and lower abdomen, flanks, and upper back with a fat transfer to the breast. Dr. Schaffner made sure there was a 2-way conversation as he marked me up for surgery, asking for my preferences as it related to different areas, and being careful not to sway me in one direction vs another. The actual procedure was almost painless and I was having great chats with him and the nurses during my visit. I was equally horrified and pleased to see the 2 liters of fat (AFTER draining the excess fluid) that was removed from my torso.
The first few days of recovery were a blur, as was to be expected, but the results were immediate. Despite all of the swelling and excess fluid, I could clearly see a difference in the shape and proportion of my body. My breasts have retained the size they were around week 3, when most of the swelling had subsided, though my waist has continued to tighten. I have a bit of loose skin, but will give it a few more months before I go for laser skin tightening. Pictures attached are at the 3 month mark.
Overall, I am incredibly happy with my results and the entire team that I worked with. This process helped me to feel in control of my appearance despite my PCOS and thyroid conditions that seemingly took over from me. My weight is currently stable and I don't need to worry about now having to lose weight before liking what I see. Highly recommend Dr. Schaffner and this office to anyone who is interested in this procedure. Thank you!!
