Good point, to show that the almost impossibility of eating/drinking eases, as it does, I'm not sure posts have made it clear. I'm 6 weeks post and can enjoy good healthy yet much smaller sizes meals, and lose weight.

Thanks, not a lot of posts explain the pain, when I came to the nurse said I was green and I felt that ill for 2 days it was extremely unbearable and it wasn't until the 2nd day that I was able to force my first juice. In saying that I've always struggled with anaesthetic and they did release me on the 3rd day from hospital as I seemed to recover quickly.

Yet, I came to without pain at all, just a little sore. I was up walking 4 hours after I woke, and the afternoon of my 8 a.m. Surgery. I declined any pain meds because at most I was 2 on a 1 - 10 scale and only rated discomfort. I've never had issues with anaesthetic and that helped. I was never I'll of nauseas and I was sipping water and keeping ice chips in my mouth from waking up too. My worst experience post op was the aniseed taste of the post op drink test to check for leaks. I recovered brilliantly and nothing has changed in this journey. I did get really tired in the few weeks, but I returned to work after 5 days when my body clearly wanted more rest and healing time.

Thank you again as I'm interested in your progress, it's very warm here in Australia and going out for walks seems enjoyable to (never was before). I'll be updating soon especially in the first few weeks as my body adjusts to the change. Still to have alcohol and wondering how others go with that also as I was a 1-2 bottles of wine a day drinker prior to making the decision to do the op.

It sure isn't warm herd in Melbourne today! I don't drink so no comment on that. I'll look forward to reading your progress.

I'd be interested to know exactly what you eat and how much each day and also do you get the urge to eat more, if you don't mind

I eat so much less than I ever have. I eat what I think those that are slim 'naturally' eat. One weetbix with 1/2 a bana is a full breakfast, and I need to have a cup,of tea a couple of hours before or after if I want to eat that much. 2 scrambled eggs fills me and on a good day, two bits iv a piece of toast with it. I have a full feeling but make sure I put 3 meals in, for fuel. I small tin of tuna with two rice crackers fills me up for lunch, as does two slices of low fat chess with four crackers. Dinner is just the same as any diiner but the total serve volume is about 1/2 to 3/4 cup. Today, being Saturday, I was out and about and bought a single sized gourmet beef and mushroom pie, When I got home I cut it in half, heated it thru, and ateits filling and three small bites of the pastry casing and I was done. It's only an hour and a half ago, so I'm waiting until 2 hours to have a little space to have a cup of tea. This morning I ordered a coffee with 2 scrambled eggs, I just managed the eggs, I small bite of the toast and half a cup,of coffee, which is more than I would usually have at on sitting. I hope that helps? I don't get th urge to eat more. Although old habits of wanting to block thoughts with food, like when I am eating bored and when stressed still happen, but now I know that's why I am having them and have to accept what they are rather than drowning them with food because I'm always too full to do so.

Thanks for that info, I eat 200 ml of smoothies, shakes and soups 5 times a day with about a litre of water, is that too much not enough or ok in your opinion?, I reckon I could eat more but feel that I'd be cheating the system.

Each Dr seems to suggest different or thru the dietician. My Dr, after 4 weeks, said for me to eat between 600-800 calories a day, and because the amounts I can eat are small, make them healthy ones. I am sure the calories differ depending on gender/weight/lifestyle too. It depends what's in your shake/soup/smoothie too I guess, and that seems to be a good amount of water, because it's about what I remember to drink. I've read of people who do overeat and stretch their stomachs (in laymans terms) and I'm sure that's the last thing anyone of us wants to do. You'll be having a post op checkup, and get the right advice specific to you.

Hey hun. I was on the wait list for bypass but I have been on it since 2011. I cant wait anymore and I am just having plastic surgery in america. I am going to my obesity clinic appointment in march. I have my tummy tuck and liposuction in san diego on the 29th of jan. I am also in adelaide. I figure I will show up to my appointment and tell them where they can shove it. Screw the health care system. They ahve done nothing for me. Scum bags. Glad you got your sleeve done mate. Are you going to be lookinv at cosmetic surgery after? Lookingbgreat btw. Xox

Update

Well not quite 3 months into the op and my weight has dropped from 118kgs (day of the op) to 103kgs which I'm very pleased about. I've started drinking Scotch and coke about 2-3 a day and that seems to have helped with my liquid content as I was struggling to drink the litre and a half as directed. It seems to have the reverse effect as before because now if I drink an extra one just before dinner I can't seem to eat very much. Monday I started at the gym extremely difficult ATM, but I'll persist also the dizziness and headaches have slowly gone, but still getting reflux (medication helps tremendously) also I'm not throwing up as much as before maybe once a week if I eat too quick like I used to. Specialist says I'm now just overweight and not obese with only 12 more kts to lose, here's hoping that the gym can tone up the very loose skin that seems to concern me a touch. I'll update down the track.

Seriously? Ha! Well, so much for health and wellness. Scotch and coke 2-3 a day? Hmmm. Sounds like you didn't watch the Doctor's video eh? Good luck buddy!

I was told that carbonation would stretch the sleeve. Does your doctor allow coke? I also heard no alcohol for 5 months. Is your doc super lienient?
June 19, 2015
If you will eat slower you will get full on less food and chew your food at least 20 chews for each bite, it will digest much more easily without throwing up and you will not over eat so much and cause heartburn and vomiting. This is my doctors orders and I am sure your doctor would agree. Your tiny tummy has a much more difficult time digesting because it is so small. Treat it gently and it will not fail you. Best of Luck Andrea 54.
