I will be travelling interstate fro this procedure - What hotel did you stay at? Also who took your stitches out?

Do you feel numbness?... is it that bad the loss of sensivity?...
February 19, 2017
The top part of my head is numb and will take a couple of months for the sensation to return. The loss of feeling does not bother me at all.

Tks so much! You look great, the only doctor that performs this surgery in my country scared me so much saying I will lose feeling because of the nature of the procedure, just to make me not doing it. He do this surgery just to men that wants a feminization.... still looking for a surgeon in Mexico that performs this surgery that I can trust.

The numbness is only temporary so there is no reason why that should stop you. Definitely find a doctor who is experienced, perhaps consider going to the US.

Had this procedure done December 22, and the top of my head was completely numb afterwards. On February 14, I woke up and noticed that some of the sensation had returned to my scalp, so now I can feel myself scratching and touching the top of my head but it's still reduced sensation compared to what it was before. My head has weird itching and tingling, which is a good sign that the nerves are coming back and the sensation will continue to return. My scalp still feels tight and a little weird, even 2 months after surgery, just to give you an idea of what it feels like. There are also some hard cysts under the scalp the size of very small peas which feel weird and make "crunching" noises if I move my scalp around with my hands. They should go away eventually.

That being said, I have read others reviews on here where their scalp sensation hadn't returned even a year afterwards, although they said they didn't mind and the surgery was still worth it to them. Definitely make sure you pick out a good surgeon who is reputable, it is actually a big surgery and I feel that the recovery was more involved that what some surgeons websites made it out to be. I experienced telogen effluvium from this procedure, with bald patches on the top of my head and along the scarline, and am still waiting to see if my hair will grow back or not.

Would you mind posting some photos now that time has passed, even if just of the scar? Thank you so much :)

It looks so good already!! I can see the scar will be so subtle in no time at all! I do want this surgery too one day.. would be great if you kept the updates coming! Did your surgeon talk to you about how your hair line will be after wards? Any complications?
January 30, 2017
Thank you. It is such a rewarding procedure, especially as my big forehead contributed to my low self esteem. There were no complications. I chose a skilled and experienced surgeon. Eventually hair will grow through the scar line, hiding it to look natural. No one will know what I had done. However during healing there is the potential for shock hair loss which is not permanent and will grow back.

Your scar line is already so thin. Hair will grow right through it and make it invisible. What a drastic change to your face, this was the perfect operation for you.

Thank you! I know I have made the right decision, I am so happy :)

Wow! What a huge difference! You must be so happy!

It has now been 5 days since I had my procedure and I am now back in my home town.
The actual procedure went great. As it was twilight surgery I was concerned about being awake and although I didn't fall asleep I was comfortable with only a little recollection of what happened. The whole team at the clinic were wonderful, they were caring, thoughtful and made me feel relaxed. After the surgery was complete I was in a little pain and feeling sick. I was given a local anaesthetic and an anti-nausea injection. From then I felt great and went home to my hotel. I had something to eat and had a good sleep.

The next morning I woke with some pain and nausea and spent the morning vomiting. Later I went back to the clinic to have my bandages removed. The doctor also gave me an anti-nausea injection which helped. Since then I have had no more nausea and just took pain relief for a couple of days if needed.

My forehead is now approx 6cm and had 3cm taken off in total. It looks proportionate and I could not be happier. After all this time I can't believe I finally have a normal forehead! It feels surreal and will take a little time to get used to my new face.

I get my stitches taken out in 3 days. I plan on using a scar cream and a hair vitamin. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Wow you it looks amazing - I am from Brisbane as well and I'm definitely considering this surgery. I read on Dr Marzola's website that micro-grafting is performed 6 months after to soften and hide the scar line, will you be undergoing micro-grafting as well?
January 31, 2017
Thank you so much. I don't plan on having the micro-grafting but I will have to see how the scar heals. Already the incision is not very detectable, even with the stitches in. Once hair starts growing through the scar line it will look even more natural.

How long have you taken off work? Has anyone from work noticed?
February 1, 2017
I have taken 2 weeks off from work so not back yet. I wasn't sure what to expect so wanted enough time for everything to settle down. I feel confident wearing my hair just parted in the middle and don't think anyone will really notice to be honest. I might wear a little makeup if it looks red. People will just notice I have changed my hairstyle and not that I have had surgery.
