In 3 weeks time I will finally be fulfilling my lifelong dream of having a smaller forehead. I am 27 years old and although I only discovered this procedure about 8 years ago I have dreamt of a miracle since I was a little girl. I am now financially secure to take the next step.
I was unfortunately blessed with a large forehead which runs in my family. Never a day goes by where I don’t cover it up with a fringe or headband. Swimming and windy days fills me with anxiety for fear of people seeing my large forehead. I don’t want to spend the rest of my life so unhappy with my appearance, I want to enjoy life with confidence.
I will be travelling interstate and so far I have had my consultation with Dr Marzola via Skype. I feel confident that he will help me achieve my expectations and hope to reduce my hairline 2.5cm.
I have read so many of you reviews on Real Self, it has been such a huge help, and I am aware of the risks. I feel they are a small price to pay when I imagine the benefits and how I will feel after this is all done.
If anyone has any tips, encouragement or information I will greatly appreciate it. I am so excited and nervous at the same time! I look forward to sharing my story as I progress.

It has now been 5 days since I had my procedure and I am now back in my home town.
The actual procedure went great. As it was twilight surgery I was concerned about being awake and although I didn't fall asleep I was comfortable with only a little recollection of what happened. The whole team at the clinic were wonderful, they were caring, thoughtful and made me feel relaxed. After the surgery was complete I was in a little pain and feeling sick. I was given a local anaesthetic and an anti-nausea injection. From then I felt great and went home to my hotel. I had something to eat and had a good sleep.
The next morning I woke with some pain and nausea and spent the morning vomiting. Later I went back to the clinic to have my bandages removed. The doctor also gave me an anti-nausea injection which helped. Since then I have had no more nausea and just took pain relief for a couple of days if needed.
My forehead is now approx 6cm and had 3cm taken off in total. It looks proportionate and I could not be happier. After all this time I can't believe I finally have a normal forehead! It feels surreal and will take a little time to get used to my new face.
I get my stitches taken out in 3 days. I plan on using a scar cream and a hair vitamin. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Wow you it looks amazing - I am from Brisbane as well and I'm definitely considering this surgery. I read on Dr Marzola's website that micro-grafting is performed 6 months after to soften and hide the scar line, will you be undergoing micro-grafting as well?

Thank you so much. I don't plan on having the micro-grafting but I will have to see how the scar heals. Already the incision is not very detectable, even with the stitches in. Once hair starts growing through the scar line it will look even more natural.

I have taken 2 weeks off from work so not back yet. I wasn't sure what to expect so wanted enough time for everything to settle down. I feel confident wearing my hair just parted in the middle and don't think anyone will really notice to be honest. I might wear a little makeup if it looks red. People will just notice I have changed my hairstyle and not that I have had surgery.

It looks so good already!! I can see the scar will be so subtle in no time at all! I do want this surgery too one day.. would be great if you kept the updates coming! Did your surgeon talk to you about how your hair line will be after wards? Any complications?

Thank you. It is such a rewarding procedure, especially as my big forehead contributed to my low self esteem. There were no complications. I chose a skilled and experienced surgeon. Eventually hair will grow through the scar line, hiding it to look natural. No one will know what I had done. However during healing there is the potential for shock hair loss which is not permanent and will grow back.

Your scar line is already so thin. Hair will grow right through it and make it invisible. What a drastic change to your face, this was the perfect operation for you.
