AccuTite for Lower Face and Jowls

I saw my dermatologist for another issue and mentioned that I would like to consider doing "something" to mitigate the family jowls and under neck fat pad I had seen developing. I'm no skinny mini but I have lost some weight and it just made the issue more obvious. I am 51 and people can't guess my age. I've never had a cosmetic procedure of any kind. Dr. Green suggested AccuTite with Morpheus 8. I opted just for AccuTite this time. I attended an info session and booked my appointment.
I did a lot of research before the appointment. Dr. Green was also very attentive and answered any questions I had. She marked my face and took "before" pictures. I received a topical anesthetic and after a while was brought into the procedure room.
At this point, tumescent anesthesia (anesthesia delivered in saline to pump up the skin) was administered via very large syringes with impressive needles. I happened to think the whole thing was fascinating but if you are afraid of needles, you would want to cover your eyes. I did feel the needles as a little pinch, but tumescent anesthesia is amazing. I could feel the doctor and her assistants touching my face but I couldn't feel a bit of pain throughout the whole procedure. Once Dr. Green decided I was sufficiently numb, the procedure began.
Dr. Green "pre-tunneled" into an area by my left ear and then used the radio frequency of the AccuTite device/machine to melt the fat and firm up the skin. There were 3 entry points - at each ear and under the chin. I'm not sure what I expected but after she was done, there was a lot of massaging and pushing as she used suction to remove a lot of fat. I read that some procedures do not require the liposuction but I certainly received it. The whole procedure took about an hour. I was at the office for about 2.5 hours.
Once I was done, I was given aftercare instructions. It dawned on me that I was going to be paying, walking out of the office and driving home with a rather unattractive pressure garment on my head and permanent marker on my face (to be fair, the assistant did try to get some of this off but it's "permanent"). I was advised to wear the pressure garment for 48 hours and then overnight for at least 2 weeks until the swelling subsided. I was given a prescription for antibiotics.
I took it easy for those 48 hours. There was considerable swelling under my chin and on my neck. I seem to have received a slight burn on my neck and had some bruising, likely caused by the lipo massaging. The most uncomfortable part of this phase was the pressure garment. It's pushing on a swollen area and while it didn't really hurt, it was uncomfortable.
So, I'm on day 4 after AccuTite. I'm going into the office tomorrow. I'll be wearing a scarf to hide the burn and the swelling. I've noticed an improvement in the swelling each day but I still look a bit "bullfroggy", which is not what I was going for - ha! The bruising is largely gone. I notice there's kind of a knot under my chin and I wouldn't be surprised if my gland wasn't swollen (this is common for me). It's a little numb under my chin.
I'm looking forward to every day of healing and have been taking pix. I'm no model and just wanted to include "real info" for those wondering. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll update as I heal.

How do you go to work with a swollen under chin? Have your procedure done in the winter and wear a scarf! I have a big scab under my chin because of that entry point. A lot more fat was sucked out of that area, I think. The scarf is working and no one is questioning it.

Did u do it all being awoke? I was fully asleep. Why did he do accutite rather than FaceTite for that area?
December 10, 2019
Yes - completely awake with just topical and local anesthesia. Apparently the implement for FaceTite is much bigger. The AccuTite cannula/RF pad seems to pose less of a risk of nerve damage and they can get into tighter spaces with it.

Well I had accutite, I wonder if he use a low setting...just cream? And local...well, I was totally out. I wonder if they put low setting on u, so u won't see much results. I had good results correcting my botched fat graft by exequiel polistina, who experimented on me totally. Anyway u won't see saggy skin, or else I would also have had it, I think they did sth had to those ladies w that result.

There is no “low setting” and my doctor (she) used tumescent anesthesia, which is often used as a general anesthesia for lips. My doctor set the proscribed surface temperature and internal temperature. If you read about the procedure, it’s not always necessary to be totally under sedation. I saw how much fat was removed. It was a considerable amount. In any case, it sounds like perhaps you had more done. I’m glad you had good results.

I think there is higher and lower power, a range. I got it done at 10 and my friend at 25. My friend is more into this than me. How did u see the fat removed?

I saw the basin of fat after the procedure and the doctor explained what was happening. I was awake, after all, and I was interested.

Hi there wow thanks for the info...
I had accutite along jawline and under Chin.... I don’t think my doctor did any Lipo - I’m pretty thin but still have slight looking that I hate and started to make face look rather square. Doc also did Morpheus 8 bM that hurt the worst.
I’m one week out feeling puffy still especially in morning which now my face looks more square than ever! Ugh.....!!! Waiting patiently. I had a follow up today and forgot to Dr I feel sort of a marble along one side of jawline...hmmm did you have this experience???
I guess it takes awhile. Sometimes I feel the garment makes it more swollen. How are you doing ? Any updates?

Hi - I’m two weeks out tomorrow. The swelling has gone down but I still see it under my chin and yes, I do have a marble-like swelling right at the under chin entry site. I feel like My jowls are about the same as before and my chin/neck are more swollen than they were before the procedure. I feel like I see a little improvement every day though. Every day the slightly numb feeling gets better too. In some ways it’s amazing that no one has even guessed that I had the procedure. I’m looking forward to when *I* can tell a positive difference.
I hope your healing goes well. Don’t get discouraged!

I called my doctor about the marble size mass on one side. No reply back yet. I’m sure they will call in the morning. It was around 4:30 when I called so...
I’m still swollen too. Maybe each day is better. BF said he doesn’t notice it and I’m thinking how could he not. They just don’t get it. He said you looked great before so...
I’m still wearing garment. My doctor did tell me to only wear it now at night and through this weekend? It hurts my neck. Are you still wearing your garment at night? I feel like I’m being strangled when I sleep.
Also, once in a while I notice a tingling or pinching nerve feeling but it’s so quick nothing that last long.
Right now I just want to get back to my baseline. I’m sure you’re feeling the same way. Your two weeks out and I’m exact one tomorrow. So it’s great following you since we are basically going through the same Process! God for what I spent this better work and not become worse! Not feeling postive today because not much change. I need to relax and pray it does it’s think as it seems to have done with others that I’ve since whom started out worse than us... ☺️

Oh I wanted to mention when I was at my doctors yesterday he said to start doing light message in a back and downward motion. Not sure if you were told to do this yet too? Thanks again. L

Thanks for letting me know. My first follow up is at 6 weeks. I’ve actually been doing this lightly and it seems to help. I’ve read different things about massage and lipo. Some say do it and others say leave it to a professional but I will not be booking regular sessions with a masseuse for this (unless there is a lingering issue, I suppose).

One Week
catgirl29December 14, 2019
Yesterday marked one week since the procedure. Still have considerable (but not uncomfortable) swelling under my chin. When I touch my chin and jowls, it’s still a little tingly/numb. I think I look about the same or a little puffier than before. Looking forward to things tightening up. You know, when you see the before and great after pictures, I think it’s hard to remember there is definitely an “in-between”.
