Accutane Journey

I will not be taking accutane after this month. I've decided to stop the treatment, it has become too much for me. Depending on the person , yes the medication is worth it. But unfortunately not for me. I have been an emotional wreck since the first week I started it. I'm severely depressed, I haven't reported it to my dermatologist because I wanted to keep pushing through the treatment and clear my skin. But it's not worth the wait anymore. I can't do it. I feel like a whole nother person now! Also it has been nearly impossible to lose weight. My triglycerides have skyrocketed at 280mg above average!!! The healthy limit is 150. My face is always bloodshot red. Even if I'm not exposed to the sun/heat.
Thank you everyone for following me.
I wish the rest of you the best of luck.

I'm 15 years old and I'm on my 2 month of 40mg accutane, from the pictures you posted your face looked like it was getting better, hopefully I don't have the same depression problem as you, sorry to hear that this happened!
My 15 year old son just started on Accutane yesterday. Now I'm terrified. He already has mild depression and takes generic Prozac for it.

Did your dermotologist discuss with you how long you will be on the treatment ?
No she hasn't said when I'll be at the end of my treatment yet, I remember before I started she told be my treatment could last anytime between 6months to a year depending on how well I do with the treatment. She did tell me that I will be staying at 80mg a day and it won't get any higher than that.
You look great. I'm inspired.
Thanks very much, means a lot to me
I literally just started Accutane last night 6/3/17

3 Months In, I see the Derm on the 30th.
For these past few weeks i've noticed that my face has a ''peak'' hour...meaning my face is bloodshot red from 12pm-4pm ....it's weird right? My face gets really warm and rosey, I look flushed.!
My skin is very thin and sensitive, if I even scratch an itch...i'll leave scratch marks.
My cholesterol keeps getting a little higher every time i go to see the doctor. I'm hoping it went down a little since i've been a little more wise with my food choices and trying to stay active.
I have gained about 10lbs since i've started my treatment and I look a little bloated around the mid section.

Do you still get any cystic breakouts? I see in your recent pics your skin has improved a lot and looks really smooth
Yes I still get them , but very little and they don't hurt like they used to.

Some say the accutane lasts in the body for 6 weeks then I seen an article online that says it only lasts in the system for 9 days.
