Finally DONE!
WORTH IT
Thank goodness Friday 12/15 was the last day I took Claravis. So, went to my visit last month the dermatologist kept me on Claravis for another month. I was a little frustrated about it because I have been on a low dose 40mg/daily of the medication since March. Well I went to the dermatologist Saturday and the dermatologist determined that my course was complete. I am elated that I don't have to take it anymore. I pray I don't have anymore breakouts. I have to take birth control for another month and go to the lab in a month for a urine pregnancy test instead of a blood test. I am happy with my results and hope my documentation of my journey has helped someone.

About 7 &1/2 months update...End date coming soon 11/15/17
I'm so glad that this will be over, not because I'm not satisfied with my results, but because I don't like taking medicines. So re-cap I started taking Clavaris 40 mg once a day in March. The next month my dose was increased to 30mg two times a day = 60mg per day. That dosage didn't work for me that's why I have been on Clavaris for so long. There's a certain amount of milligrams that studies show you must reach so that your acne doesn't come back. At 60mg per day my side effect of joint pain intensified and my triglyceride level increased too. This, the medication was tapered back down to 40mg a day. My most significant side effect was dry lips, then joint pain, and a occasional headache. I will say the birth control caused me to gain weight so that's another reason why I'm so eager to cease taking the medication. Overall I am very happy. I feel more confident, pretty, & so glad I don't have to wear make-up unless it's for a special occasion. People compliment me on how pretty I am & I love it. If I had to do it over again I most definitely would.

You look great! My oil has decreased but I am now darker. I am 36 days in on Clavaris.
Thank you. Try to avoid prolonged sun exposure & use moisturizers with SPF.
They have oil-free moisturizers.
I use Burts Bees & its pretty good. I will try spf though. I hope my normal tone comes back! I cant wait until im done. Im bot experiencing any other side effects other than being darker. No joint pain & my oil has decreased without being overly dry but i think next month they are going to up my dosages...

Hello,
Well since starting Clavaris on March 14th my face to me is gorgeous! I'm so happy with my results. However, I'm only on 40mg a day which means I have to take the medication a little longer than anticipated. As I mentioned in the past my second month on Clarivis the dermatologist increased my dose to 30mg two times a day (60mg/day). Well I couldn't tolerate the joint pain any longer & my triglyceride levels doubled so I told the dermatologist that I would try 40mg/day & that's what I have been taking since mid-May because my visits are usually always the 14th or 15th of each month. I have a visit tomorrow & at my last the dermatologist said I have to be on Claravis 3 more months in order to meet the amount of milligrams required for the medication to be effective after ceasing use. So now I only have 2 more months left & I'm elated. I don't wear makeup anymore, I feel prettier, & more confident. My dark spots even drastically lighted. This is one of the best decisions that I've ever made! I feel beautiful!

You look beautiful I wanna try accutanr but am scared but success stories like your give me hope
Thank you so much! I understand being afraid of the side effects. As a registered nurse I was concerned too, I administer pills yet I hate taking them. However, I am happy with my results & would do it all over again. If & when you experience side effects consult with your dermatologist or doctor. There's always the option of ceasing or decreasing the milligrams of the medication, plus you have rights no one will force you to stay on it. Regardless, you have to do what's best for you & your body. Whatever you decide, best wishes! Thanks for your comment.
You look fantastic, great decision to take the Accutane, nothing else works. Worth every penny, however much it cost you. Good luck for the long term.
Thank you! It's expensive, but I don't regret my decision. Yes, I hope it benefits me in the long term.
You had great results. Congratulations.
Thanks!
You look amazing! I just started, so this is great motivation!
Thank you so much! I hope it works for you as well as it worked for me.
