Such a Fantastic Experience

I had been thinking about abdominoplasty for quite a few years, when I was in the position to afford the operation.
I did my research on surgeons in my area and it was important to me that the surgeon was registered with all the recommended bodies in the UK and had a good amount of experience in doing the operation I was looking for.
I live in West Yorkshire and did not want to travel far from home to have the procedure so was very lucky to find Professor Ajay. He worked at the local private hospital near where I live which meant my husband could be with me every day to support me.
I had abdominoplasty with liposuction and muscle repair in April 2026 and can honestly say it was the best money I have ever spent. Not only has it dealt with the overhang from my 2 pregnancies but a very annoying scar which felt “stuck” from my hysterectomy quite a few years ago.
The operation is quite a brutal one but be assured that the pain afterwards is negligible. I did not need painkillers after day 2 and the worst bit for me was not being able to have a shower for 2 weeks while my wound was healing. I did have to stay in hospital for 4 nights, which is longer than normally expected, due to a stubborn drain.
Afterwards I had Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) to help with the swelling and fluid retention, so you need to include this in your overall budget. It is also really important to wear the compression wear as instructed to help with your contour. Do work on massaging your scar and stretching regularly to make sure your skin adapts to the tightness.
I am now 6 months post op and my scar is settling nicely, with the help of massage and scar tape. I have body dysmorphia so look at myself with a critical eye all the time (which is frustrating) but have had wonderful feedback on how I look and I feel so much better in my clothes. Another huge bonus is that now my tummy muscles are back together, my back pain from damaged discs is so much better. I have a lovely internal corset supporting my core, instead of separated muscles!
I would recommend Professor Ajay to anyone who is thinking about this operation. Go and have a consultation, what’s the worst that can happen? You decide not to go through with it and you haven’t lost anything but if you never go, you will always question if you should have gone and asked.
