Day 3 So I still feel no pain ( woohoo!!) but...

Day 3

So I still feel no pain ( woohoo!!) but i feel incredibly stuffy still. :( its such a strange feeling not being able to breathe through my nose. This may sound gross but there is a lot of mucus coming from my nose, so I am constantly changing the lower bandage on my nose. My sis says I look like a duck. haha - I will post some pics up. My lips are still dry ( load up on the chapstick!!)

I feel ok though... I have some "rawness" on my cheeks still from the tape that is holding my bottom bandage up. Thankfully I was able to take a bath yesterday!! felt a ton better. My throat still feels a little dry/ sore from me breathing out of my mouth this whole time. ( CANT WAIT TIL I CAN BREATHE AGAIN !!) I took my prescribed percocet (2) last night to sleep.. but either im an elephant and need something stronger - it really didnt do anything! ( I mean im not complaining since I have NO PAIN!)

My friend who got her nose done the same time as me hasnt been able to really eat anything.. well i guess the opposite effect is on me since I have been eating the world -___- . Im getting cabin fever!!

My follow up is on Monday - CANT WAITTTTTTTTTTTT - I will continue updating as I go along..

Let me begin that I have been reading real self...

Let me begin that I have been reading real self for years, and reading everyone's stories of their plastic surgery journey's . I knew that when I would be getting my nose done - that I too would join the RS community and let all of you both curious and existing RS's about the procedure. I have been wanting to get a nose job for the longest time. I decided it was time to finally get one after one of my closest friend decided she wanted one too. So we looked together.

Dr. Westreich did digital imaging on both of our noses, showing us what it would look like ( more like the target look). After me being annoying and telling him I wanted Kim K's nose ( insert outburst of laughter) he and my friend brought me back to reality and told me that he would do what would work best with my face. With incredible patience on his end, we came to an agreement on the look and I was pleased.

I went for pre surgical testing at the MEETH center ( Lenox Hill Hospital) where they did some minor bloodwork and asked a series of questions prior to surgery. The plastic surgeon's office gave me a llittle "goodie bag" filled with things I would need post op.

While I waited for the date to draw near, Lauren the front desk girl was NOTHING BUT wonderful. She answered ALL my questions, helped me out when needed, gave advice etc. Overall the whole office was such a pleasure to deal with as this is incredibly important to me. ( you have to be comfortable duh!)

DAY OF SURGERY MONDAY MARCH 11TH 2013
My scheduled time was for 1145 am. I checked in the hospital and got ready for surgery. Once again, everyone was incredibly nice ( is this where all the nice people are in NY???) The nurses and anesthesiologist were there to answer any questions I had ( I didnt ) but offered anyway.

Strangely enough, I was not nervous at all! I felt no anxiety or fear - i dont know why. Perhaps it was my confidence in Dr. Westreich? or perhaps all my concerns were answered prior to the surgery. ( This wasnt the case for my friend who was a nervous wreck LOL ) Into the operating room I went... and out I came. I was up 10 mins post surgery, ( to everyone's surprise) and pretty coherent.

I didnt feel any pain, and waited for my sister to come pick me up. While I waited, I joked with the nurses and wouldnt shut up. Once my sis came, they told me what to do now that the surgery was over. I left the hospital and came home.

The pain... hmm its not really pain at all. I cant explain. I feel like I have a bad cold and the 'pain' feels like I blew my nose really hard and leaves that 'raw' feeling when you over do it. I ate and drank regularly ( no hot food)

I took the arnica pills shortly after to avoid any bruising ( I have none!!) ( the pills came in my goodie bag) tip: keep a chapstick near by!!! My lips felt so dry!
My sister changed my bandage on the bottom of my nose as shown by the nurse. I was feeling good!!

I took the tylenol extra strength pill shortly after just to prevent any pain that would be oncoming since I didnt feel anything. I sound congested lol and look funny with all these bandages on my face. (oh well!)

Right before I went to bed I took a percocet as the nurse said I should. Piled on three pillows and tried to go to sleep. needless to say, I didnt get ANY sleep. I woke up every half hour, to drink water. My throat was dry and sore since I couldnt breath!! sigh..

Day 2 -
Have been up for a couple of hours... about to take the pills as direcyed and change my bandage. Still no pain!! :)
Stay tuned...

I already knew of a plastic surgeon who came highly recommended. I reached out for him, when he honestly informed me that he doesnt really specialize in rhinoplasty. He told me to contact Dr. Westreich ( he highly recommended). My friend and I booked a consultation- and loved him. I immediately felt comfortable and at ease with him- so confident in Dr Westreich, that my friend and I didnt even feel the need to see other doctors. We booked the surgery for March 11th.
