32G to 32D Breast Reduction

WORTH IT
I’ve always been busty. Even in my teen years I was a C/D. After having children and breastfeeding I was a 34J. After losing the baby weight I couldn’t get smaller than a G. Even with vigorous exercise. At 39 years old and my youngest child at 6 years of age I decided it was time to get a reduction. The other women that have shared their journey on RealSelf gave me the courage to take the next steps.
At my consult with Dr. Wakelin he listened to my concerns and assured me that I was great candidate for the surgery. His assistants had excellent communication with me and my insurance, they made sure that insurance had as much info as possible, so it could be covered. I had medical records from my OBGYN, neurologist and physical therapist sent to his office. They made sure all the Ts were crossed and Is were dotted.
The day of the surgery the nurses were excellent. Calm and reassuring. Surgery was quick but when I woke up I definitely felt nauseous. There was quite a bit of pain for me, a burning sensation. They gave me pain meds. My first few days at home were rough. I barely moved, but each day I made slow improvements. I will post pictures of the bruising and swelling. About 2 weeks post op I got a bad rash on my body. The doctor prescribed steroids which helped tremendously. Cause was somewhat inconclusive, but it was thought I had a delayed allergic reaction to the surgical topical solution.
As I write this I’m 2 months post op and SO happy and grateful. Clothes fit me so much better. My breasts are more proportionate to my small frame. I highly recommend Dr. Wakelin at Columbus Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery! Scares are healing nicely, I’m sure in time they will be even better.

Great result. Thank you for sharing - I've had a reduction and am freaking out about how the healing looks - but based on your trajectory everything is pretty normal. Enjoy your new boobs.

Thanks for showing the progression--I'm planning to get reduction and healing process pics freak me out, so it's helpful to see both the bruising AND the healed pics. The scars look great!

Scars are continuing to fade. My size has stabilized to a 32D. My sides are numb still, I have no nipple sensation on one side. Breast tissue is soft again. Absolutely no regrets, I should of done this years ago!

that are definitely NOT superficial. I had chronic neck pain and migraines for years. Went through physical
therapy and countless meds. My posture was out of wack due to the weight of the breasts. I had to wear multiple bras to exercise. I have neuropathy as well. All of these previous issues have resolved or improved since my surgery. Hence why my insurance paid all but $38.
I don’t find your comment helpful, just rude. Not everyone cares about looks alone. I 100% have NO regrets, and your opinion of my choice doesn’t change it either!
