Rhinoplasty is one of the most complex plastic...
Rhinoplasty is one of the most complex plastic surgeries there is, and you definitely would want to pick a surgeon who is THE expert in this field. After a LOT of research about this procedure and plastic surgeons’ backgrounds and their works, I picked Dr. Jonathan Pontell. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Dr. Pontell’s rhinoplasty combines not only brilliant skills and a lot of years of experience, but beautiful art work with a true talent. His results are absolutely amazing! Check out his before and after jobs on his website - the pictures look so much better than some of those overpriced New York, or California…. “Best Surgeons in US” that pop up on your Web search. You really have to be careful in differentiating between good marketing vs. good surgeon skills.
My nose had a wide, thick tip with a slight hump on the bridge. I absolutely hated my “potato” nose, and I was always conscious about it. I was also very hesitant and nervous about getting rhinoplasty, (because it’s so noticeable and such a complex surgery), even thought I had a couple of other plastic surgeries before and I was very happy with the results. However, it turned out to be a very positive experience. With all its complexity, I was very surprised how easy and simple the recovery process was with very minimum pain and pretty fast aesthetic results. I actually was able to attend my college the very next day after my surgery (if you don’t mind having a little cast on your nose in public). I didn’t have any bruising or black eyes either. I was also able to go back to work once the cast was taking off exactly 1 week later. When the doctor took my cast off, the nose looked swollen but very pleasant and presentable. MOST IMPORTANTLY, it looked very natural. People could barley notice that I even had a surgery. Two weeks later, the majority of swellings went away and that was the time when you can really see some major cosmetic/aesthetic changes to your nose. People around started to tell me that I look different, guessing maybe I lost weight or fixed my eyebrows, or had a different make up, etc. I believe this is one of the best outcomes of recovering from the surgery, not a dramatic change that everyone can point out, but a gradual shaping of the nose over time that brings more harmony to your face. Very natural results once again.
Dr. Pontell is one of the BEST, truly! I definitely suggest him for rhinoplasty. He is a great professional and also a super nice guy!
