In 8 days I'm having a breast reduction! In 21 years old and feel extremely frustrated and limited by my chest. I have significant back problems. I want to be more active. My chest is way too big for my frame. I hate the way I look in clothes. I want to wear cute dresses without strapping on a bra that is uglier than most grandmothers. I do not have children yet.
As you can see from the photos one boob is also significantly larger which Is also so frustrating! Can't wait for a shot at symmetry. They're also pretty floppy and I have stretch marks.
I got approved through the governmental program of Blue Cross Blue Shield- My procedure is being done through Boulder Plastic Surgery. My surgeon is Dr. Justin Maxhiemer.
Stay tuned!
Advice welcome

Today was my pre op appointment, and it was really not what I was expecting... I assumed at some point I would meet with my surgeon and talk about my individualized surgery plans- like how much he was planning to remove and if I wanted to change the size of my areolas (and I also wanted to know if that increased risk for nipple numbness or increased sensitivity) etc.. And if I had like concerns or preferences, because it's been about six months since my initial conciliation and that is when I last saw him. But I just met with a series of nurses who just reiterated the information in the packet I received by phone and in the mail. I asked all my questions anyways, but the nurses just basically told me she didn't know for sure, but my Doctor might. I asked if I could see pictures of past patients close to my age or size (because the website has like 3 examples of much older women and I feel like those results aren't as applicable) and the nurse said she was unable to that.
I think my expectations were really off but the experience was pretty frustrating for me.

I am also in the process! I'm looking for a plastic surgeon but I am so nervous of how I am going to feel and how my boobs will look after the surgery. I totally understand you, there isn't much examples of girls that are short with big breast.

Did it!

Alright, so yesterday was the big day! I got the the surgery center around 6:45 and got home around 3:30. The actual surgery took about two hours and then they kept me and had me sleep for a couple hours post op.
Dr. Maxhimer and his team were all wonderful. He answered all my questions and assured me that it all went perfectly to plan afterwords.
The anesthesia made me kinda weepy when I was waking up which the recovery room nurse told me was very common in younger patients. Her name was Sandy and she was absolutely wonderful. They also let my mom come down early because I was crying so much lol, but it was odd, I didn't feel sad emotionally, it was like a physical thing. Hard to describe, but not so bad, just weird.
In the past 24 hours I have only had one or two spots that I would describe as uncomfortable or painful. The highest my pain level has been is about a 5, but the ice and pain meds really help, and again, not all over pain, just in one or two spots.
They send me home with 4 large medical ice packs which have all leaked. My first post op appointment was supposed to be this Friday but my bandages got wet in the night so I have to pop back in today. Hopefully that won't be too unpleasant.
I have switched to different ice packs from Walgreens that seem much better. I'll include a photo.
So far so good!

I cried so much afterward too! Not sad at all, more like sobs of joy lol! I couldn't stop so they had my mom come early too. Maybe is really is a younger patient thing to be highly sensitive post op :D
