Have been thinking and researching this procedure for quite some time and after much thought have finally decided to have it done. While researching, I came across this site which has helped me a great deal in answering many questions and is also where I found the PS. My preop is scheduled for 12/23 and my sx for 1/8/16. I will post more info after my preop appointment. One of my concerns is the pain following surgery which I haven't been able to get a clear description of since all relate to it so differently. It appears most doctors downplay it but the patients seem to feel it is pretty bad. Am just hoping that the pain meds really do work and makes it bearable.

Thanks! This seems to be a great site for information and support, both of which are super helpful. Good luck to you as well.

Hello realself family. Today was my preop appointment. I first had my physical/preop exam with my primary care doctor so I wouldn't have to go someplace else to get any testing done before sx, also my insurance would cover the tests done through my primary. I was done early with my primary so my PS' office squeezed me in earlier which was great. The PS went through the procedure with me, took pictures, then I signed the paperwork. I decided to add lipo of the upper inner thighs which added to the price but it's another thing I have wanted to do so its worth it to me. I was given the prescriptions that I will need prior to and after surgery and have already had those filled so one more thing out of the way.

The office assistant Sara sat with me initially to explain the forms she emailed me and see if I had any questions. She is extremely nice and very informative. I forgot my documents when I left the office and she came running after me in the rain to give them to me and I was already over a block away.

My sx is still scheduled for 1/8/16 and that date will be here soon. Not too nervous yet but am sure I will be as the date gets closer. Right now I just want to concentrate on enjoying the holidays.

Have gained a few pounds but that is normal for me this time of year due to (as all of you know) all the holiday parties, great food everywhere you go and Booz. Am planning to try to eat a little healthier after the holidays are over and to try to incorporate a bit of working out.

I have done tons of research through this site and others so think I'm pretty well informed but would greatly welcome any advise from all you veterans.

That's all for now, until sx is done and I can update with results. Until then, good luck to all going through their procedures. Wish you all the best.

5 more days to go before sx

Have 5 days before surgery and am really starting to get anxious. I think I'm pretty well prepared now and for the most part have everything I need (I hope). Have set up my guest room as sick bay :-) and have set up everything that I will need for the first few day on table close to the bed. I understand that the first few days can be pretty bad. I love this site. Have gotten a great deal of information through here and a good understanding of what to expext and supplies needed to make recovery a bit easier. I ordered the anti gravity lawn chair today, looked for the cheapest sale version they had since I will be cutting out a hole to accommodate my new and healing butt. Can't see having to stay only on my stomach for 3 weeks+. Figured that with this chair and pillow in back and under legs in reclined position I can be more comfortable when eating or watching tv without putting any pressure on my butt. If anyone has any post bbl/lipo surgical advice I would greatly appreciate reading your insight. My biggest issue right now is trying to remain calm until Friday.

I bought a lawn chair at Kmart as I wasn't sure which anti gravity one to buyonline. Do you have the name / model? Did you buy online . How much was it if you don't mind my asking Mine was $40, but I may return since it's not the antigravity variety

Hi bubblex2, I bought it through hayneedle.com. When on site type in anti gravity lawn chair. The one I purchased was also $40. but was the cheapest one they had, these chairs are usually more expensive. They have them in different colors but they are a bit more expensive, and since I plan to pretty much destroy it to use during recovery I didn't want anything too expensive. The gray one is the cheapest so it's the one I got.
