10 days into accutane

WORTH IT$55
I’ll start by saying I by no means have severe acne, I have stubborn acne. I have tried multiple medications and acne regimes with no help, so I’m trying accutane. I’m 10 days in and already have back pain. All of the bumps under my skin are coming to a head which has been quite painful. I was able to get the medication for $35 though so I was pretty relieved about. I will try to update every few weeks as I really want to document this journey!

Little update

Every bump under my skin is coming to life ???? my derm told me it would definitely get worse before it got better, and I think that’s what’s happening! My cheeks are also becoming flushed and red. Kind of dry, not too bad. My lips are more dry than anything. Back pain is finally subsiding a little bit, but I’m sure it might come back.

Update!

So my accutane journey was set back about a week. I took my pregnancy test on time however my provider failed to enter that into ipledge, therefore I was denied my prescription and had to wait a week to take another pregnancy test.
They have doubled my dose to 60mg now that my body has adjusted to the medication and my labs have come back okay.
I’m starting to already see some major improvements in not just my acne but my skin tone overall! I know I still have a long way to go but I already feel so much better about my skin. I know I’ll never have a perfectly clear complexion because of my freckles and sun spots, but it has already made a huge difference.
Now, the negatives. My body aches all the time. I get out of bed in the morning and I’m walking like an 80 year old woman. I’m not an active person but I work up to 9 hours a day on my feet. I also have been having crying fits and fatigue. But nothing really more serious than that, and nothing outside of what I knew was a possibility of happening.
I’ll update again soon!
