My Volbella Experience, 1st time getting lip fillers

UPDATED FROM misssadielady
3 days post

So, the night of me getting my fillers was…

WORTH IT$400
So, the night of me getting my fillers was a little uncomfortable. My lips swelled like crazy! I will attach a pic. I kind of liked how they looked swollen though LOL. I'm so glad I didn't make any plans because I definitely felt like I was walking around with a foreign object attached to my face. I could barely drink or eat because it was a little bit painful, but most of all it just felt weird to move my lips and kind of freaked me out.
The next morning, the swelling had gone down but my lips felt a little hard. I didn't feel any pain at all. They were also very dry even though I kept putting lip balm on.
As I'm typing this update, it's been 3 days since the injections and I feel like the swelling is all gone. I'm extremely pleased with how my lips look. I will probably update later with more pictures of how they look with lipstick or lipgloss on :).

How are you doing?
I am doing great. Thanks for asking! Swelling is completely gone now and my lips look normal. No one can tell I've had anything done but I notice when I put lipstick on that there's "more" lip haha.
I am so glad to hear that! could you post a pick?
Best
Did you get .5 or 1.0 in your syringe?
I got 1 syringe of Volbella which is .5 cc.
ORIGINAL POST

My Volbella Experience, 1st time getting lip fillers

I've been wanting to get my lips done for SO long and today I finally did it! My lips are naturally a little asymmetrical (you will see in the pics) but overall I was happy with them but I wanted to try something different and non-permanent and lip fillers seem to be all the rage these days. My lips were done by a RN in a plastic surgeon's office. I go to this office for Botox and they are great. The cost for 1 syringe of Volbella at this office is $400, but this office had a special for $100 off any filler and I had a Brilliant Distinctions coupon which brought my price down to $250. Not bad!
Numbing cream was applied directly to my lips and the area outside of my lips for 30 minutes. My mouth was completely numb and it felt weird to even talk. I couldn't tell if I was smiling or what my mouth was doing lol. On a pain scale from 1-10, it was seriously a 1-2 with the numbing cream. I could feel the filler going into my lips and it stung slightly, but besides that there was no pain during the procedure. Most of the filler was placed in my top lip but she also put some in my bottom lip. One side of my top lip looks a little bigger than the other, but they've always been this way naturally and hopefully when the swelling goes down it won't be as noticeable. I was given an ice pack to go home with and told to ice 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. I'm also taking Arnica to help prevent bruising. I am seriously in love with my lips already! I can't wait to see what they look like once they've settled down. I wanted a slight enhancement (NO duck lips or Kylie Jenner lips) and so far, I feel like I got exactly what I wanted.
As I'm typing this review, it's been about 5 hours since my injection and my lips are pretty sore and sensitive (on pain scale from 1-10, I'd say I'm about at a 4-5). It hurts to drink, talk and even licking my lips stings. I will update this review in the next few days and advise on the pain.

They look fantastic !
Thank you!
Wow that looks amazing. You had super nice lips to begin with. I have had my lip done in the past and all I can say is try to enjoy the swelling for the first few days. Even though it's too much it's kind of fun to have that look for a bit. Swelling typically fades in like 24-48 hours.
I panicked and iced like crazy and then wished I didn't.
Thank you! I agree that even when it looks "too much" it's fun to have that look. I'm already wanting to get more fillers!
They look awesome! Would you mind sharing the name of your doctor?
