Day 21 post-op.
Back at work and finally feeling and looking more like me. I hadn't anticipated feeling so worried about my scars showing! Advice: wear a hat when outside to hold hair down around your ears to hide scars until you can use makeup on them.

Day 13 post-op
Had my second dye laser treatment for bruising today. It has made the red bruises turn yellow, which are way easier to hide with make up. I go back to work tomorrow. Really nervous. I also had another red light treatment which really continues to help with the swelling in my jaw and neck. I have been sleeping sitting up, which is very exhausting. I cannot imagine how much more swelling I would have if I had been sleeping normally.

Thank you for sharing your progress. I haven't heard of that laser process for bruising. Would you mind sharing more details about it? I'm three weeks post op. Been using arnica pills and cream.

It's called a pulse dye laser. They used it on my dark bruises. If I understand it right, it breaks up the blood (the bruise) under the skin. I saw a big improvement by the next day but an even bigger improvement after the second time, two days later. It doesn't hurt and it took about 1minute or less for them to do.

Day 11 post-op
Went out and about wearing makeup. Still very bruised around my mouth. I am super self conscious. When the wind blew, I panicked because my incisions on my temples show. I guess I'll need to wear a hat outside for a few months. No physical pain, just social discomfort. ????
