I've had 3 Fraxel Laser treatments over the last year and I'm about to have my 4th in a few days. Right off the bat I think everyones tolerance for pain is different. To be completely honest, I've found the pain for me has been really high and I've always used the numbing cream for an hour and even vicoden the last time. It feels to me a bit like getting a tattoo. Just like tattoos, the fleshy areas are less painful than the areas closer to bone. Therefore the forehead has been particularly painful. Each time I've had the treatment, my down time gets less but usually feel completely normal in 5 days. My pigmintation is a bit darker for a couple of weeks but nothing too bad. I first started the treatments for acne scarring and bumps on my nose and forehead. The bumps have been significantly reduced and the scarring is smoothing out. My skin has a more even tone and it is definitely smoother making it look younger. It's wierd to see your skin improve for the first time when you're used to seeing you skin get worse as you get older. I would recomment the treatment if you're serious about having better skin.
