Hello, I am an active 54 year old who has lived and worked between the USA and Europe for 30 years. Between constant air travel and 2 falls on my right leg, I have had constant vein issues for 5-8 years. I have undergone this treatment (with foam) 6 times in 2.5 years on this leg and am not any better (worse, in fact) than I have ever been. My calf is constantly numb and groin area feels pulled from the treatment. This never goes away and is constant throughout all the treatments and recovery. Is there a better treatment? I would do surgery to have this permanently resolved because closing the veins does not work. They reopen and cause poor circulation 2-3 months after every procedure. I am concerned that the doctors here (Ive been treated at two clinics) do not specialize in anything else or are not trained so they default to this treatment and wont recommend another. I am trying to find out if there is another treatment.
I'm a middle aged male, about 6'1 and 190 lbs with olive skin tone. After Varithena, is wearing the 48 hour ACE aka Compression Wrap necessary ? Or do you all just recommend compression stockings right after the procedure ? I've found the wraps to be extremely itchy/uneven. I did contact Boston Scientific and they explain the ACE wrap is necessary to secure the puffy elements. And the puffy elements are necessary to prevent pooling and clotting.
