I did a septoplasty surgery in May 2018 with slight turbinate reduction. Months passed by with little to no noticeable improvement. On Jan 23rd 2019, I did another surgery for strengthening the nostril cartilage, preventing nasal collapse and another slight turbinate reduction. My breathing improved for a few days and then it went back to being congested. There seem to be some sort of inflammation causing this but I don't know what is causing the inflammation. Smoke? Dust? Diet? What should I do now?
I had a 3 hour Surgery that included Septoplasty, Turbinoplasty, Opening of the Sinuses, Bilateral cartilage grafts for Vestibular stenosis, Rhinoplasty, and cartilage placed in the L nostril opening. The grafts are placed very high over the cartilage existing on sides of the nose) I still have collapse when I inhale. Also feel resistance high up in my passages. Difficult to clean out other than with saline rinses. The passages are so narrow even a q-tip rubs on both sides trying to get it thru.
About 4 months ago I had a septoplasty to help my breathing but it had no noticeable results. I recently back to my surgeon and he informed that my septum in still deviated right under the bridge of my nose and can't be straightened because my nose would lose structural support down the line. The only thing he said that can be done is a rhinoplasty with grafts to widen the nasal passages. Is there any way to straighten my septum even though the deviation is right on the bridge of my nose?
I had septoplasty and turbinate resection surgery 2 months a go. I feel as if this surgery did zilch for me. My Dr. Didn't see any perforation. But, I feel the same as I did the day before surgery. Realistically, how long does it take to see results? Was the surgery a failure? Maybe my allergies? I'm truly frustrated. Can someone please enlighten me? You're reply is much appreciated. Thnx
