My doctore has prescribed me tetrinoin fr my acne, milia skin and I am alread 29 so want that anti aging benefit too .But I tend to get tanned easily and india the summers are like crazy .I understand tetrinoin makes skin sun sensitive and have to use sunscreen. But I am afraid I will get darker .Also what of I have to go in sunlight all day for a trip .can we stop it temporarily week before to reduce sun sensitivity .
Hello, I use tretinoin regularly for years. I have fair skin. It is impossible to always wear sunblock at all times, especially during winter. after being oudoors for 5-10 minutes in UV index 2 weather, my skin gets redness and irritation for 12-24 hours. This is a mild sunburn. do mild sunburns have long-term consequences? I get these a few times per year
Is Tretinoin actually making me sunburn? I was outside for about 20 mins and feel incredibly sunburned in winter with Uv index of 1. Is this causing more harm than good? Ive been using tretinoin 0.5 for a few months. What is the actual photosensitive damage for such an exposure?
I have very sensitive skin. Ive been using retinol for about 2 month and i stopped for a couple of weeks because i had severe retinol uglies and now im back on it once weekly using moisturizer before & after and it still causes me redness & irritation, so can i use it during the summer with extreme sunexposure ( sun tanning & salty sea) or should i stop for the summer? or incomplete process of retinol usage will cause more harm to my skin?
I use retin A cream for about 2 months now. I forgot to use lots of sunscreen and went and played in my soccer tournament all day in the Las Vegas sun, my skin now has red blotches that are hard and look like rashes. It hurts badly to put anything on my face and I used lots of aloe but Im very worried what is going to happen to my skin now? What should I do to help it?
Last month, I used retinol .05% and lactic acid 10% each once a week, on different days. On several occasions, I went out the next morning or day during a UV Index 1 day without sunscreen. Sometimes, I used an SPF 15 lotion, but I have read that these do not have coverage like sunscreen does. I have noticed new wrinkles under my eyes. Previously I only had very fine, and few, lines. Now there are many and my eyes look quite wrinkled. Can just these exposures induce these problems, so quickly?
I used Tazorac last night and this morning I forgot I had it on and went outside to do a mile run in the sun. Now I have red spots and possible sunburn as it hurts when I try to put moisturizer on to soothe the reddness and irritation. Will the red spots/sunburn all over my face go away? And how will I treat it for it to go away?
Im African American with a darker skin tone and I was recently prescribed Retin-A gel 0.08% for acne. Ive read a lot about the side effects and Im a little concerned. Having a darker skin tone, is Retina-A good for me and am I prone to suffer from discoloration, hyperpigmentation, darkening etc.? Also, will my skin continue to be overly sensitive to sun exposure after I eventually discontinue the use of Retina-A, or does this sensitivity occur only during the use of Retina-A? Thanks!
I'm on my 3rd month of retin-A. Should I keep my every-night application of retin-A if my face still peels some days? The skin isn't dry or flaking, just small bits of skin that could easily come off if scrubbed. Is this normal even if I'm on my 3rd month of retin-A already or should I use it less often? I dont go under the sun, I dont have any irritation, redness, or itchyness. Just worried that the surface of my skin will become too thin or become too sensitive over time. Thank you
I am in my early 30's and live in Florida (prob Hawaii after this) and I have been told by professionals that I would benefit from a medical peel for my static eye wrinkles and sun damage from reckless sun exposure in my 20's. I was also told to use Retin-A. How can I use a daily glycolic peel, Retin-A treatment or medical peel when I live in places where I am in constant sun? I don't want to hide from my beautiful climate (I now wear spf30), but I want to get my skin under control. Thanks!
