I have a large number of painful lipomas (the lipomas are likely related to my diagnosis of MEN1) in my upper and lower abdomen and at the base of my rib cage. The surgeon I've seen suggested a panniculectomy, which would not take care of the lipomas higher up. She knows insurance won't pay for anything more than that but I want to know what would take care of it ALL. This causes me a lot of pain and infections. What surgeries would get rid of all three tiers, the lipomas and excess skin?
I have what I was told was a lipoma on my rib cage a few years back. Fast forward I am now dealing with digestive issues and heart rate problems & discomfort a bit when Im in certain positions. Can I get this removed?? Will it help me or is it worth it?
for a year i have notice a lump on my rib cage that just kept getting bigger. my fiance took me to the ER a few weeks ago to have it looked at and the doc there told me that he was just going to "slap a name on it and call it lipoma" after doing a single cat scan. he also told me to just go home and ignore it. this bothers me because he didnt seem to really care or try to help me with my problem. what test should i have done to make sure it really is lipoma? and what are your opinions on it?
I am a 32 year old man. I've had a lipoma near my left ribcage for 15 years. It has grown very slowly in that time and there has never been any pain, symptoms related. No other health problems. I am having the lipoma removed next week, and during the consultation the dr. said she doesn't expect anything negative. Still, I'm nervous about the biopsy. Given how long I've had it, with no symptoms and normal blood work, it's probably unlikely to be something more serious than lipoma, right?
