I'm a 20 year-old Indian girl with olive skin and thick hair. ha laser hair removal when I was 17(I had12sittings) and I noticed moderate hyperpigmentation around legs and underarms I stopped with laser sessions. I have many ingrown hairs on legs which are not in the form of inflamed raised bumps, but are like brown spots with hair trapped deeper under the skin it's impossible to squeeze the hair out. My hyperpigmentation has reduced, I apply Tretinoin(0.025%).
I had a 25% mandelic acid peel. Used before. I forgot I used salicylicacid serum 2% morning of on problem areas near chin- those are the areas visibly irritated. During peel patches looked white, thickened, and raised. After rinse skin was still white. It later turned red and I put aloe vera + occlusive before bed. Photos 12 hr post peel. Areas are sensitive and dark not bright red, smooth. I alternate tretinoin cream and AHA serum nightly. I have L-ascorbic based Vit C, can this help/irritate? Will I have patches?
Hi I'm starting out on using glycolic acid but I'm not sure how because I'm currently using a salicylic acid based cleanser. Is it okay to use a salicylic based cleanser follow by a 7.5% glycolic acid daily exfoliater by Bona Fide skin care and after a Tretinon, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide acne cream then a serum and moisturizer all at night. Is this too much?
~2 years ago I tried a glycolic acid peel at home. First one was fine but this 2nd time it burned terribly (maybe b/c my Tretinoin?). Stupidly left it on for 10 minutes anyway and got horrified when I saw the streaks after neutralizing. Applied lotion but when it peeled terribly over the next couple days I also stupidly scrubbed off the flaky skin. Now the skin is red,leathery/bubbly texture, and you can see streaks where it's different heights. Any hope? Currently using clyndamyacin and tazorac
I did a chemical peel 50% glycolic and didn't neutralize it completely now there are spots and a significant burn mark on my cheek I've been putting vitamin e oil on it and have tretinoin and hydroquinone to start using once the scabs are healed will this help
