Hi Just noticed 2 strands of hair are in wound. I am not near the doctor, but have emailed him for advice. What should I do? Cut the hair at the root, try and pull out the strands, wait to go I go to Australia and get my doctor to look at it. The op was 3 weeks ago and ditches removed 2 weeks ago. Wounds have healed very nicely and happy with the results. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks
When I saw my Surgeon a week ago he said I was healing well. I didn't notice this at the time. However he said that some of my dissolving stitches were coming to the surface. He removed the ones sticking out. Could this be why? Will I lose the affect of my facelift? So much anxiety I find going through the healing process.
I had a face/ neck lift and lower eye surgery done 3 months ago and my recovery has been ok but i only see a slight improvement, i haves oken to my surgeon who says i will need a mid facelift, i feel very upset with this response, my surgeon said that he took 3 cm of skin and that is the max he could take in one operation. I now have a stitch poking through the side of my face, it feels metal not like the stitches i had to remove myself which were very soft. Any advise, much appreciated
I had a lower facelift/necklift 15 months ago & I still frequently have pain & I consistently have numbness where the internal stitches were located. Short of opening up the wounds is there any imaging technology that will confirm whether the stitches have dissolved? My surgeon said they should have resolved in no more than 12 months but my sensation has not changed & my neck is still flushed red where the platysma was sewn to the mastoid laterally. What are the potential L-T consequences?
Im particularly worried that an internal stitch may be pressing on my auricular nerve as Ive heard some of you mention that this could happen. If my auricular nerve is somehow surrounded by a stitch, can my surgeon do an X-ray to see this? And if the internal stitches are dissolvable, how long does it take for them to dissolve? Thanks so much!
I recently cut my forehead down to the bone (shape of a backwards C approx. 3). I have had my stitches removed a few days ago. Cut is healing well, but I have noticed alittle numbness at cut site. Also, I have noticed that I can't move the eyebrow all the way up on the side of the cut. Is this normal?
Lower facelift 3+ wks ago and when stitches were removed, nurse said she may have missed some & I can remove them myself. Absorbable ones might poke out & those could be clipped. There were two at the top of my ear (one on each ear) that I thought were absorbable & I left them alone until last night. They were blue and one had a knot. That one was removed but the one on my left ear is too embedded in my skin. What happens if the incision closes up over this stitch? Surgeon is out of state.
After facelift, and neck surgery. I was not told to wear any type of chin strap. I, also, was released to exercise after 2 weeks after surgery. Could wearing no chin strap or exersing to soon cause internal stitches to come loose or skin become loose?
