Had fractional CO2 laser resurfacing two weeks ago, 40% coverage for acne scarring (light rolling scars, very shallow boxcars, some very shallow icepicks). Mostly healed now, so far no improvement. I've heard the line that it takes up to 6 months to see the full results, but what percent of the results approximately should I expect to see at the 1 month mark, 2 month, mark, 3 month ark, etc.
I have undergone 5 fractional CO2 laser procedures so far with each requiring 5-6 days downtime recovery period. Lo and behold I am only able to witness a 10 percent improvement as opposed to the 80 percent promised by my doctor. My pitted scarrings are still very very visible and I need advice on what to turn to next if i do not wish to continue with temporary fillers. I am Asian and prone to hyperpigmentation with a mixture of ice pick and rolling scars.
1. I was advised to go for Co2 laser for my scar and with retinol peel for post hyperpigmentation 2. She said the laser and peel will b done on same day. Is that fine if we done the treatment on same day ? 3. I was on accutane for a period of one month in Jan 2017 and I am going to start by Co2 laser n peel by 20th April. Can this cause side effects.
So I just did TCA CROSS today and the dermatologist said linear scars that are on the left side of my nose and what it looks to be enlarged pores/ice pick scars that are on the top of my nose won't get any improved from TCA CROSS and didn't even bother trying on it. He only did it on my temples and cheeks. I found that little weird. I feel like he didn't want to take a risk on my nose. Or if that's true, would CO2 Fraxel help get rid of these scars that are on my nose? Thank you very much!
I have had two ice pick scars excised on the bridge of my nose which actually created bigger scars, and I have also completed 6 sessions of microneedling with Rejuvapen with little results. The only other option in my area is fractional co2 laser (specifically CO2RE laser). Would this offer any improvement? There seems to be many differing opinions about the efficacy of these lasers in this type of scarring. Thanks for any and all help!
A Medispa PA recommended a single, full face CO2RE treatment, however I'm wondering if that may be extreme. I don't want my face to be significantly red for months if I can avoid it. I've read that CO2RE patients are ideally in their 30s. What reasons should a 25 year woman old avoid the CO2RE? The PA told me that Sublative Rejuvenation won't make a significant difference. If I'm spending a lot of money on a treatment, I obviously want results.
The vertical indented scar on the bridge of my nose resulted after an attempt at ice pick scar punch excision and closure. This scar is much worse than the small icepick scar. I had this performed with a board verified plastic surgeon. It has been 6 months and I have undergone 5 microneedling sessions and one co2 laser session with zero improvement. Should I consider re-excision?? Is there a high chance of worse scarring?
