A day after surgery part of each areola turned puffy/purple. Surgeon texted me not to worry, but gently move breast around. These became necrotic. I Am debrided weekly and have open wounds. After first debridement I felt sick and GP said infection. Surgeon says he bets there's no infection. cultures show Staph infection. I'm losing confidence in my surgeon and I am concerned. Should I seek a second opinion? Both look much better, but wet to dry dressing still pulls out smelly green substance.
6 weeks post reduction surgery I developed a staph infection. It resulted in a small opening in the nipple and puss has been draining for 3 weeks now. At this three week point an S-Scar is falling off and I have a new opening with pus coming out. In addition I have fat necrosis. I was given a 10 days of antibiotic and completed that.
I am 4 months post breast reduction (anchor technique). 2 weeks post surgery I developed a staph infection in the vertical incision site of my left breast treated with 2 courses of antibiotics. I now have an approx 1 inch in diameter hard painful lump in my breast where the infection was.
I've had a BR 2.5 weeks ago. I contracted a staph skin infection on my face and neck. Not breasts. I have had these red hot patches in the side of both breasts. One worst. I'm on antibiotics for the skin and it is clearing up. My doc has given me 6 needle penicillin antibiotics. I'm onto number 4. The have lessened the redness but it is still hot and sore. I had a breast Reduction in left, lift & implants in March this year. I developed a staph infection 2 weeks post op in my left breast, which resulted in the implant being removed. I was not able to have another surgery until 5 months after. In August, I had my breast implant put back in the left breast, although had a larger implant placed in due to loosing natural breast tissue from infection. In addition to this surgery, I had the skin tightened and areola reduced on my right breast.
