I received a breast augmentation 3 years ago this past year noticed that my left side seems to either settled in a different position or bottomed out a bit. The scar on the left side is no longer in the crease. When I spoke with my doctor about this, he said it may be bottoming out but asked me to wear an underwire bra for another year and we will reassess at a later date. He said this may be due to my natural anatomy since the fold of one breast was lower to begin with.
I have been spiting stitched which is why one breast has the dressings on. I am worried the other breast is bottoming out. It feels odd at the bottom of the breast and worried my nipple is pointing higher than usual
Dear Doctors, I want to get a BA soon and I was wondering if there is a technique that is the safest against bottoming out, my biggest fear. I have minimal tissue (bra size 34AA) and my pocket width has been measured as 9.5cm by a surgeon and 11cm by another (which I found odd). That leads me to pick UTM, high profile gel implants. Preferred range 290 to 340cc and I'll let the doc decide. I hear great things about dual plane technique, is that good to avoid bottoming out in the future?
Exactly 6 months post op-340 cc, high profile gel, over the muscle.. I am wondering if I am starting to bottom out. My nipples look higher to me, maybe even the right more than left. I went to see my surgeon last week and he seems defensive that I was there checking.
I know there are a number of factors that can cause bottoming out, but in my research of women with smaller implants (under 275 and high profile/narrow) I seem to have come across A LOT of women who ended up bottoming out. I wondered if it may be because it would be more likely to over dissect pockets since the implant is small, which may be a part of the reason I keep coming across this? Im getting 250cc HP and am alarmed by the number of woman who bottomed out with this size or smaller.
I have read that by 6-8 weeks post op it is okay to scuba dive. However, my surgeon suggested to me 6 months. When I asked why, he said because I had tubular breasts and the implants haven't 'bottomed out' yet, that there is more risk of swelling if I scuba dive as it is a high impact sport. He had earlier said contact sports at 8 weeks was fine. I am currently 4 weeks post op and want to scuba dive at 10 weeks post op. He said it wouldn't cause permanent damage but maybe just cause swelling. Any answers?
