Can I put Lumineers on my 2 front teeth only? (Photo)

Question

I have straight teeth. I chipped both my top front teeth a bit when I was little so they are a bit shorter than I’d like. I don’t want to change anything other than fix the 2 teeth. And I don’t want to put Veneers as I don’t want to shave my teeth down. Can I put Lumineers only on the front 2 teeth? Or will I need to put on the neighboring teeth as well. Will the color match? Do Lunineers come in shades?

When you are looking only to do two veneers, it iws best to have a local ceramist/artist make the teeth and work with the dentist to match the two new teeth to your existing tooth color. The Lumineer lab is in California, and sending a photo of the color of your teeth to them is helpful but matching that color through photographs is quite difficult. I prefer to work with a local technician to help get the color correct the first time and not send the lumineers back to California to try to match color.

For your case, you could definitely treat just the front 2 teeth but I would NOT recommend prepless veneers AKA Lumineers. Veneers and lumineers, whether you "shave" the teeth down or not, are both irreversible permanent procedures. Once a restoration is bonded to the tooth, removal of that restoration will not leave the tooth in the same condition as when you started. Additionally, your front teeth will protrude too far out and appear like rabbit teeth if you do not prepare them/shave them down slightly to let the veneer fit into your smile line. I would highly not recommend lumineers for you for the best result. Preparation of the teeth for veneers is very minimal and is not damaging to your teeth, because you will then cover and protect the teeth with restorations. Also, your dentist will likely have to make modifications to your lower teeth so you don't chip your veneers once you get them, this is likely how your natural teeth broke in the first place. Your lower teeth are not aligned and are likely responsible for the chips on your natural teeth. Hope this helps you.
