You are definitely a case that would need to be evaluated in person, with better photography. In the 3 photos you posted, you have 3 different smiles. So an in person consultation would allow the dentist to see what you look like speaking, smiling, laughing, etc. But just based on your photos, yes, you are right that you have a deep buccal corridor (the dark spaces on the side of your smile). By using porcelain veneers, we can widen your smile and reduce the size of the dark spaces/buccal corridor so that your lip raises higher and you display more teeth. Hope this helps!
From your photos, you do seem to have a bit of a more complex case, but that doesn't mean there aren't excellent treatment options for you. If the periodontist is recommending laser gum surgery, keep in mind that this will be VERY different than any gum surgery you have 16 years ago. Periodontal (gum) surgery has come a LONG way and techniques and treatments we have now are much more effective and much less painful than they used to be. I would encourage you to get a 2nd and 3rd opinion with not only a periodontist, but also with a skilled oral surgeon to explore the option of doing something called an "all-on-four" or "all-on-six" treatment. Just a warning though, these treatments can be exceptionally pricey so you would want to make sure to really do good research on selecting the appropriate provider to do the treatment. Without having x-rays or any real data on the exact shape of your gums, it's hard to say for sure if your teeth are worth saving, and if they aren't then the "all-on-x" options would be a great, gorgeous, long-lasting restoration for you. Hope this helps!
You have valid concerns, because your 2 central incisors (front teeth) are proportionately larger than the rest of the upper teeth in the smile. For your particular smile, though, they are not too big, what you're seeing is that the OTHER teeth are too small for the smile. Look at the position of your lower lip in relation to your upper teeth. The 2 front teeth fit well in your smile, it's your other teeth that are just slightly too small for your smile. The best way to fix this would be to do minimal preparation porcelain veneers. Another benefit of treatment with porcelain veneers is that you can widen your smile and fill in some of those dark corners in your smile, which often gives a very natural, youthful result. Porcelain veneers can correct the size, shape, length, etc. of your smile and would be a great option for you. Hope this helps you!
There are a lot of different treatments you could do to correct your concerns regarding your asymmetry. One big thing you'll want to ask yourself is what specifically bothers you about your asymmetry? When I look at you, it appears that your right risorius muscle (the muscle that pulls your smile out laterally and wide) is stronger than the left. You can try to mask this by increasing the amount of display of teeth you have on the left side, to balance the dominance you have on the right. This won't CORRECT the asymmetry but instead will help mask it and make it less obvious. How can you increase the amount of tooth display? You could do orthodontic treatment (as mentioned below), you could get veneers to balance your smile (which would also correct the size, shape, color, etc. of your teeth but would be likely a big investment of time and money, but a great option if you are able to do it). Photos are a great way for us to make recommendations but something like your case would definitely need an in-person evaluation to determine how your muscles move, what your bone looks like, etc. Hope this helps you :)
You should 100% be able to get a better cosmetic result than what you currently have by either replacing the existing bridge or placing an implant where the tooth is missing and having the adjacent teeth crowned. With photos and communication with the dental lab, it is very achievable. :)
