Why does it hurt so bad after having my crown reattached?

My crown came off a back molar and now I have pain after they reattached it. I had no pain prior. They repacked and cleaned the tooth they said. They numbed it so I wouldn't feel anything as it wears off I'm in severe pain. I feel it deep in my bone. Please tell me I don't need a root canal. Why does it hurt so bad after having it reattached? It was only off for a couple of hours ..

That dent most likely has always been there and  you are just now noticing it. Have your dentist check the "click".

This is not an issue. In fact it is better to do #22-27 at the same time so that the esthetics, anatomy, and color can be matched

It may settle back but you should get an xray from your dentist to determine if any damage was done to the tooth under the crown or root.

If you have symptoms associated with that area then no, it’s not acceptable. Have your dentist switch it out.
