How long will the side effects of Retin-A last?

15/F/Fair skin. About a week ago, I started using 0.1% of retin a every day. Now my skin is peeling very badly. My skin doesn't burn its just redness and peeling. How long will this last? I don't want to stop using the medication because I'm starting to see old spots clear up (though it's making my skin red). I also wear clinique acne foundation everyday. (My dermatologist approved of this makeup)

While tretinoin will help with fine lines and produce some collagen, it will not fill in deep areas of the face that are volume deficient, such as the tear trough.  Hyaluronic acid fillers like Belotero and Restylane are best for that problem.
