Hello, Without assessing the recovery progress, it is hard to give you a definite answer to your question. Nonetheless, usually to wear snowboard goggles compressing on your nasal dorsum and possibly your alae with a considerable weight the patient has to have achieved a certain advanced level of recovery. Normally, full recovery is established at about a year post surgery. Nonetheless, any trauma could be risky while the patient is recovering from the surgery. Therefore, I encourage you to consult with your surgeon before engaging into any phsyical activity that could present certain risks to the results of your Rhinoplasty when you go with it. Best of Luck to you and thank you for your question. Dr. Sajjadian
After rhinoplasty surgery, You will want to avoid ay type of eyewear that would put pressure on your nose for around 6 weeks. This is especially the case if osteotomies (fracturing of the nasal bones) were performed. Snowboard goggles are a little easier on the nose, as much of the pressure is relieved by the strap that goes around your head. You will also want to avoid exerting yourself for 4-5 weeks following surgery. Not doing so can increase swelling and delay your healing time. It would be best to wait 4-5 weeks overall before snowboarding and wearing goggles. It is also important you wear sunscreen on the nose while snowboarding. Sunburn is very common on ski mountains, as we sometimes underestimate the power of the sun in a colder climate. You will want to avoid getting a sunburn on the nose for at least 6 months. Thanks and I hope this helps!
