What Do Braces Have to Do with Beauty?

Braces can help beauty in many ways.the obvious is the straightening of the teeth, giving you a balanced and beautiful smile and a third area that most people overlook is jaw surgery in conjuction with braces. Some people have very small lower jaws or too big lower jaws or  a very long face. All these growth patterns can prevent facial symmerty and therefore " beauty"those changes can be made with brcaes and jaw surgery and are very dramatic improvements when needed.

 

 

 

 

Braces, or more correctly stated, comprehensive orthodontic treatment can dramatically change a persons attractiveness through straightening of their teeth and creating lower facial harmony.   According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, "74 percent of adults feel that an unattractive smile can hurt a person’s chances for career success. In fact, 96 percent of adults believe an attractive smile makes a person more appealing to members of the opposite sex. And 99.7% believe that a smile is an important social asset. People are rarely born with perfect smiles, but today’s technology places great smiles within everyone’s reach.”  That should really give you something to smile about.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  But no question about it, straight teeth and an attractive smile make it more likely that you will be judged as being "beautiful" by your friends and associates. And, most important, by yourself. Research has shown that people that have straight teeth and an attractive smile are judged by their peers to be more desirable as friends and more likely to be successful in life. Orthodontic treatment with braces or with the Invisalign system may be the best way to meet the goal of being as beautiful (or handsome) as you can possibly be!

Nobody can say for sure how a nice smile can affect someone except for the person that desires one. I have seen lives change. Some have had more confidence with a new smile, making them more outgoing. Some dating prospects improved, some sales people increased sales. Some people could clean their teeth better, leading to better overall health (links to heart disease and pre term/low weight babies, etc).And I have seen people get new smiles with no noticeable affect to their life.To each his own, results may vary.
