Serious presbyopia 6 weeks after PRK. Will it improve?

I was told I would still need my reading glasses after surgery (I'm 48). So, I expected my near vision post PRK to be compromised to the same degree it was by contact lenses, but it's far worse. I can't even bring the food on my plate into focus without my readers, and that was definitely not the case before PRK. Since my distance vision is nearly perfect after six weeks, does that mean my healing process is effectively over? What are the odds of my near vision markedly improving at this point?
