Wait 30 Minutes Before Reinserting Invisalign?

Question

I have Invisalign (express and top only) and read somewhere that you should wait 30 minutes after eating to brush and reinsert the liners. Is that true? Also, if I use ACT/fluoride mouthwash (total paranoid about cavities with liners), should I wait to insert the liners too? I tend to want to swish water a lot in my mouth when I have the aligners in, is that good or bad?

There is not a rsstriction on reinsertion of your aligners after meals. Also most patients will simply swish water to remove any remaining food particles prior to reinsertion if brushing is not convenient at that time. I am NOT a fan of Fluoride mouthrinse for many reasons and I do not recommend using one simply because you are afraid of cavities and would recommend a low glycemic (low sugar and refined carbohydrate) diet instead.

Since the greater the time you are wearing your aligners, the shorter the length of your treatment. Ii strongly advise that you replace your aligners, after of course, either brushing or swallowing, asap.
