What are venlay restorations? Are they crowns or veneers?

I’ve read about a doctor offering this treatment. He calls it venlay restoration. Are these just crowns or are they veneers? Can you achieve the same results with veneers?

There are basically 4 indirect restorations (not made IN the mouth, usually taking impressions and sent to a lab): a crown, a veneer, an inlay, or an onlay.  This doctor simply combined two words to make one, as in a veneer and an inlay on the same tooth is a venlay.  It IS a single restoration, but a little more descriptive.  MOST dentists would simply say "onlay".
