How to treat hyperpigmentation from IPL burns? (Photos)

I had IPL done and I got some burns. Those burns scabbed off and I'm left with scars (see pics). I have had a few consults and I'm getting a range of ideas, from peels to q-switch yag treatments. I'm horrified from this experience and think these procedures will just make it worse. What a safe and appropriate way forward here?
