Hi Marjones!Yes you can do Invisalign even if you have veneers, (but not crowns!), in fact many patients do. Invisalign offers retainer options, but not a permanent retainer. If that is something you want, you and your dentist can discuss options for a permanent retainer.
Yes, you can have a permanent retainer after Invisalign. Permanent retainers are cemented to the backside of teeth. If you truly have veneers (and not crowns) then a permanent retainer will still work. If you have crowns then a permanent retainer will not work as well because they do not bond well to porcelain. Hi Rzayan,The etching creates small grooves on the surface of the tooth that allows your Invisalign attachments to grip onto. Since they were sliding before, the etching is necessary for the Invisalign to work it's magic properly. When all is said and done, your veneers can be polished smooth again.
